I was so relieved that Sir & Lady Astor was open when my train to Amsterdam ended in Düsseldorf--at 1 a.m. (storm conditions). Oliver from the front desk even walked me across the street and carried my suitcase up the stairs at that late hour (so kind, after my chaotic train travel). I was delighted with the hotel's pillows--including a smaller down one perfect for me as a tummy sleeper. The mattress was also exceptionally comfortable. The next morning I enjoyed a wonderfully healthy and lovingly prepared breakfast (fresh fruit salad, müsli with flaxseed, chia, nuts--items that are not always part of hotel spreads). Eggs, fresh rolls and breads were also available. Yusuf at the front desk and the women in the breakfast room were all very engaged and friendly. Sir & Lady Astor saved my day of travel.

Nicely located small hotel with easy access to city center and central train station. I stayed in one of their apartments, which is very spacious, modernly renovated with a very modern kitchen. Large comfortable beds. Both a tub and a shower. Great breakfast options.
The main complaint point is the staff. I was a witness of many internal disagreements whether amongst themselves or towards external employees. When i faced an issue with the internet, i was constantly told that there is nothing they can do, as it is a Sunday, no one is around and they can not help me. I was treated rudely and with slight agression. It's not a guest's problem of whether or not it is a Sunday. In the end, a lady came to assist with the internet and it was fixes. She apologized for the stressful situation at least. Any issue can be handled with friendliness and professionalism, but this is not the way.

Really nice staf, cozy hotel, clean, great breakfast. We booked an appartment which had the best beds! Spacious place, bathroom, kitchen, living area. Walking distance from the central station and the Altstadt. Opportunity to leave you luggage at the desk after check-out.
Area around the central station had some homeless people etc so maybe late at night not to comfortabele to walk alone. But that had nothing to do with the hotel itself.

It is in an excellent location. Easy walk to city centre. Beautiful decor. Breakfast was exceptional. Staff very helpful. They had secure storage for your bike.
As it’s an old property it does not have a lift which if you are on a top floor is a lot of stairs to carry your luggage.

The location of the hotel is perfect - very central, yet very quiet street and cosy neighbourhood. Comfortable parking, welcoming reception. Our room was spacious enough and nicely decorated. We liked breakfast and coffee as well.

Outstanding hotel with beautiful recently refurbished rooms, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. The price was reasonable. I highly recommend this place. They also had secure storage for our bikes.

Overall, it was a lovely, charming place with a cozy atmosphere. The breakfast was good, the hotel has a beautiful little garden, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Our room was cozy and comfortable, but quite small and located on the upper floor of the second building. The building has no elevator, so carrying luggage upstairs can be inconvenient, especially if you have heavy suitcases.

Fantastic room, breakfast was amazing, worth getting up for just to experience that. nice terrace to enjoy breakfast or a drink in the evening
