the location is priceless, right across from the art museum, next to comedy club, in walking distance to everything Duesseldorf has to offer with an endless number of beer restaurants and much more. Great food and beer in the Altstadt and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful River Rhine. Room is very comfortable. Restaurant pricy but great food. All this quiet in a noisy Altstadt.

Reception charged the room rate twice. I had to cancel the credit card and had a lot of difficulties. When I went to reception they said it is their mistake but they cancel the transaction. Even without excuse. I asked how I will be sure about the result. They replied don't worry...Every morning between 6 and 8 I am not sure about the source of the noise may be garbage containers wheels or else on the stone basement at the entrance of the hotel, I woke up and could not sleep.

Great location in the Old Town. Valet service for EUR 35 per day is good. Historical luxury hotel.
I thought I got a good price, but we were assigned a small room under the roof in the far corner of the hotel. The desk was too small for working. The door to the bathroom is light glass and does not provide any sound proofing nor privacy. No coffee machine. Lighting is poor.

I have stayed at Medici many times over the last ten years since it opened and always very satisfied with it. The rooms are good / The buffet breakfasts good / The staff particularly reception staff are always friendly and very helpful Although a main reason for my staying there is the location at Old Town.
The blind in the room didn't work but not a problem with the longer dark hours at this time of year. I reported it on check-out and sure it will have been repaired quite quickly.
