I chose AltDüsseldorf for its proximity to the old town and for having a bit of character, and on both of these points it didn’t disappoint. Our room for three was in a building across the street from the reception, and up three flights of stairs. The room itself was perfectly comfortable, if a little Spartan, however noise from the Street, including the nightclub downstairs, was an issue for those in our party without earplugs. The hotel staff were particularly friendly however, and breakfast was a good spread. Overall, I probably would stay again if visiting the city for a single night, but I think it is a little bit basic and noisy for a longest day.
My Friends without earplugs told me that noise from the street and the nightclub downstairs disturbed them until around 5 am. Eye on the other hand slept like a baby with my earplugs… our room was also up three flights of stairs, which the receptionist was apologetic about given that one of my friends walks with sticks, but it was okay for a single night stay.

Staff was very friendly. The location is very central but in a rowdy neighborhood. The breakfast was satisfactory.
The room was on the first floor above a bar. The music was rather loud until around 1 am.

Because of the location, there were some homeless people who were right outside our window who made a lot of noise in the morning. They were not bothering anyone. Just loud.

We had small comfortable room for us 2, yes the overall look is old and used, but it's clean and tidy. Bed linen was clean and changed accordingly. The bathroom was sparkling clean. breakfast was nice with a good selection of food for a good start of the day.

The room we received did not match the photos shown on the website. The bathroom door was broken and would not close. Although the staff took photos of the issue, they neither repaired it nor offered us a room change. Most disturbingly, a stranger entered our room using a key, which is a serious security failure. Despite reporting these issues, no proper action was taken during our stay.
