The property offers a pleasant view of the lake, which I was able to enjoy briefly during daylight hours.
Unfortunately, my experience in room 117 was disappointing. The room had so little artificial light that it felt almost claustrophobic. In contrast, the bathroom had an extremely bright light, which made returning to the dim room feel even darker and uncomfortable. In addition, the air-conditioning unit was installed in a very unattractive manner —something I would not expect in a 4-star hotel, but rather in a poorly maintained budget property.

What I loved most about Hotel Landhaus Milser in Duisburg is its authentic and classic charm. The property is a bit older, but that’s part of what makes it special—it’s incredibly well-maintained, with vintage furniture and a nostalgic atmosphere that instantly transports you to another era. It’s a refreshing change from the impersonal, modern city hotels with tiny rooms. The garden is stunning, with a small lake running through it, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. Many rooms overlook this beautiful setting, making the stay even more enjoyable. The rooms are spacious, warm, and immaculately clean, with wide bathrooms that feel luxurious. On warm summer days, every room is equipped with its own air conditioner, a thoughtful touch that adds to the comfort. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, enhancing the overall experience. I also appreciated the convenient location in the south of Duisburg—close to the airport, with easy connections, and plenty of parking available. This hotel offers the kind of genuine hospitality and ambiance that’s hard to find nowadays. It’s a place where you feel truly at home, unlike the sterile, overpriced modern alternatives. If you’re visiting Duisburg or the surrounding region, I highly recommend Hotel Landhaus Milser.

Cleaning staff was efficient and friendly. The room was spacious. The hotel was nice and the room had nice views to the lake.
No tea making facilities. Sauna had to be booked in advance.

It was relatively clean.
Poor selection for breakfast. Disappointing pizza for dinner - it is apparently managed by Italians but this does not transpires in the quality of food. Spiders and webs in the patio restaurant. Very noisy air conditioning in the rooms.

The thing that I did not like was the behavior of the employee supervising breakfast, who is an elderly woman and does not know how to deal with customers. Her reaction was unnatural. I ask the hotel manager to take this message seriously.

We really liked the hotel. Our room had a balcony facing the lake and forest, it was quiet and relaxing. We parked our car and commuted to Dusseldorf, the location was convenient for that. Breakfast buffet was very nice & staff was friendly.
