Good location, spacious room and pool area is amazing. The hot tap in the pool area for tea was a really nice touch.
The main issue that bothered me was the fact we were put on the sixth floor with windows that open fully. Be aware if you have young children as there is no safety catch and it’s a long way down!!!
The sofa bed for our children was uncomfortable and generally not good enough. They were also only provided with one pillow each.
The shower is cramped and the shower door is a double fold out/in design that lets water escape. Also the door to the toilet area was frustrating and just got in the way. It doesn’t really need to be there!
No coat hooks in the ‘hallway’ area and no corkscrew to open wine.
Finally, whilst the pool area is really nice, I feel that charging for the sauna is ridiculous. It is on whether it is used or not (and it should be available all day, not just from 16:00). You pay enough for the hotel stay, it seems miserly to charge (€5) for this when the rest of the pool area is useable for free.
Hotel parking is expensive (€24/day) and not even under the hotel, you still have a short walk to get to the hotel. We parked very slightly further away in the Parkplatz Ostrastraße Elbe for €5/day at the weekend, which is less than a 5 minute walk to the hotel.

It is a luxurious and beautifully decorated hotel. We have stayed here before.
On this occasion the swimming pool was closed for renovation. A little disappointing.

Big sized room. Big comfortable bed. I asked for more pillows and the staff kindly brought them to me. Polite and helpful staff at the reception. Very good breakfast with lots of food choices. Good quality of food and very spacious dining area overlooking the river. The hotel is big, but in winter time we had no problems with the tables during breakfast time. Very spacious hallway with lots of flowers and glass lifts. Good bar.
My birthday was during my stay and the hotel kindly presented me with a small bottle of champagne and a birthday card.
The hotel is situated a little bit off the Old city centre and it takes from 5 to 15 minutes to get to the main city attractions. In winter with a lot of snow it was a bit cold and slippery, but I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem in warmer times.

I came here over the christmas days with my parents and we booked 2 double rooms. Both were very spacious and clean. We asked during the booking to get rooms next to each other and they could accommodate that which made the trip easier.
The breakfast was amazing. I can truly say I never had such a great breakfast in a hotel ever before. There were more options that I ever had and also many vegetarian and vegan options! I could have eaten another week there breakfast and wouldnt have gotten bored.
The pool and spa area are also great. The pool has a good size and even some extras that can be turned on and the sauna area was also great.
Its a short walk to the old historic town.
We liked it so much that we already consider to return.
A kettle in the room would be great to make tea in winter
