The castle is located on a hill overlooking the Elbe, and is surrounded by a lovely park-like garden. Dresden Neustadt can easily be reached by tram within about 20 minutes. The neighbouring castles (Albrechtsburg in particular) are worth exploring as well. They sometimes offer good classical concerts.
For astronomers, there is a good view of the sky, especially to the east and south. For gastronomers, the meals are excellent (the breakfasts are Lucullan).
I fear I can find little or nothing negative to say.

Historical significance of location; Dresden.
Receptions rudeness and unprofessional attitude! Was made to pay extra 53 euros for my wife although the room was already for double occupancy according to the host. The hotel outright claimed it was my fault; however, I had made multiple reservations through Booking.com without any issues elsewhere. In addition, the room was not clean; there were bugs alive and dead and the countertops had not been cleaned in a while as there were multiple water rings and stains on the counters. Not what anyone should have to expect anywhere!

It is a fabulous setting, nestled in the trees, and the 'old castle' is beautiful. Very posh looking in a romantic setting.
It appeared that our room did not have air conditioning. (101 in the Annex) A stay in the mid-summer might be uncomfortable. This time of year, (Sep), it was wonderful. Breakfast was expensive. The grounds are gorgeous, but they have space for more parking that they have not provided.

Location is beautiful and parks with 3 castles near each other gave us a lot of pleasure. Also we appreciated free parking.
It was no tea pot in the room and we had to go downstairs to make coffee.

You need ti do something about internet. It was horrible experience. I don't remember when last time i use such slow internet and such uncomfortable way to connect to wifi. Please do something about it.

As a history enthusiast, I always enjoy staying in historic places such as manors or castles—and this time was no exception. The entire property is beautifully restored and well maintained. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The reception staff helped me with a kettle when I asked for one to make tea in the evening, as there wasn’t one in the room. I also liked that checking out was simple—you could just drop the key into a separate box by the exit. Since the hotel consists of several buildings, there was no need to go to the reception, which was located in another building. Very convenient.
Unfortunately I had no time to visit restaurant. From outside it looked amazing. Perhaps next time!

The location is truly beautiful. Rooms were spacious and clean.
First of all, it is very misleading o put two different buildings and room standards under the same offer. I am not the first client that was surprised on the arrival that his room will be in a totally different building than a castle on the pictures and the room standards will be 3* not 4 as in the MAIN booking.com offer of "4* Hotel Schloss Eckberg". I am aware that it is also a mistake done by a myself and other guests, but I believe the hotel would avoid lower ratings if there will be two separate offers: one for the 4* Castle and one for 3* Cavalier's House.
No kettle or any way of making tea or coffee in the room was a huge drawback for us. :(
Especially in a very cold winter weather! It would be a small change (and low cost for the facility) but a huge difference for the guests. It is also very standard and expected convenience in the hotels, that should be in the room for this price.

Concluding... not worth the price and a bit disappointing. Nothing sparkly, nor tragic.
