Large hotel (understood from the former DDR time) which shows in a very positive way. Interior a bit retro (very nice) and in excellent condition. Really like the room very much, spacious, nice view, coffee tea facilities. Great bed.
Many hotels claim "an excellent breakfast" but here you find a more than excellent breakfast. It is worth the additional costs. Very pleasant staff at the very spacious breakfast room, much choice and fantastic quality.
After the bridge collapse, public transport requires a short walk.
The carpets in the room show obviously that guests walk in with their street shoes on. This no criticism of cleaning.
The room is perfectly cleaned but it would be an idea to use the floor type in front of the elevators also in the room.

- Nice hotel close to the city center but in a quiet location.
- Excellent staff.
- Nice clean rooms with lot of sunlight if needed.
- Fridge in room.
- Wifi was moody, it was OK for occasional browsing but it would be not satisfactory for working.
- No kettle in the room for making tee/coffee.
- The hotel is just above the recently collapsed Carola bridge, soon the building of the new bridge will start and it may be a disrupting experience. Check the plans and schedule of the new bridge building before booking. Or, it also may be a nice experience for some people to see the construction work from above.

The breakfast is rich and tasty. Room is big than I expected. Views from the window is nice.
The location of this hotel requires too much walking if customs don't come by car. It's not convenient for ones who are not familiar with Dresden. I had to walk a lot every day. There are some hairs on the bath towel. The WIFI network is terrible, I hardly use it while I just wanted to check my gmail. The hair dryer's tempearture is over hot. Compared to the hotel I booked the another day in Praque (half price), I was disappointed with that.
