Not too far from our relative's place, whom we came to visit.
The room was large.
The noise levels due to the fireworks, the hard mattresses, the breakfast was minimalistic and tasteless (stale bread, dry eggs), there was no kettle nor free tea/coffee in the room, and the front desk person wasn't very pleasant at all when we voiced our concerns.
We left 2 nights earlier, in total panick, on Dec 31st, to escape the mayhem and chaos of Dresden on nye.. never again. The hotel may not be responsible for the fireworks but they should have at least agreed to refund us one of the 2 nights, as we were clearly very upset, stressed and put out and had to spend nye in the car on a highway exit to avoid the warzone !!!

Quiet location and cozy hotel. room was big and had almost everything you need for short-term stay. Staff members were nice and welcoming, guiding around hotel and helping during check-in process.
There was not enough lighing in the room and in the bathroom. As a person with poor eyesight I could not see a thing wihout glasses (when I did makeup and the only mirror was in bathroom where was not enough light, and mirror was unususally far away from the sink, mirror for shaving was not useful in that case). Since I booked without breakfast I thought I could at least have some tea without a need to go outside, as I thought I would have a kettle. My mistake.

The power sockets next to bed was very good and thoughtful.
The 4 bunk beds were neatly arranged
The breakfast was not that good. Very limited variety.
The pillow too flat.
Not enough space in toilet to hang the bath towels
The front desk staff wasn't around when we check in. There was a message left to call her but not everyone, including us, has a phone line to call German telephone number. Luckily another customer with a German tel line came in shortly after us and used his phone to contact the receptionist.

Super-clean and large room with a nice desk and a desk light for a research stay. The restaurant for breakfast and dinner is run separately from but relatedly to the guesthouse itself, and its quality is wonderfully high!
It is not too bad, but the staff at the front desk is available only between 6 and 20 o'clock (I arrived late and departed very early because of the limited flight possibilities to/from Dresden). There is no refrigerator, no pot, which would be nice for staying long in the room.
