It's always a pleasure to come back where one could feel like a second home. This time I've had the chance to see a famous actor from a serie tv that I like and follow from years!!!
The pillows a bit too soft for my taste but I've had an extra one, so all good!

The location was good . Staff was very helpful and friendly made our stay very nice.
The room we had was very noisy traffic all night until about 3 o'clock in morning . Room was very small .

Hotel Esplanade has an interesting story, we loved staying at a place with so much history and so much love for the city of Dortmund (and a cute dog!!). We truly enjoyed the mining theme and the gorgeous interior design of both the hotel's main areas and the room we stayed in. The interior designers could easily find a job in any major city in the world. The room we stayed in was true to its name - it was warm and cosy and it had excellent features - a super comfy bed, a coffee machine, a great selection of TV channels, and truly fantastic furniture pieces, including a versatile closet, a large desk with a magnetic board, a small table to use while in bed and a swivelling chair. We also loved the motorized blinds, the classic drapes, and the fact that we could open the windows. The room had a really soft carpet and the lighting was really cool - a final touch to an already perfect design.
In our experience, the room was quiet and the guests very polite. We did not use the spa but saw some guests who seemed to be enjoying it.
Last but not least - we felt truly welcome because of the kind staff who always greeted us with a smile. They were also highly efficient, a minor issue with one of the elevators was promptly resolved.
The old elevator was moody. People with mobility issues could have a problem because of it. However, seeing how professional and capable the staff is, I am sure that they would resolve any issue in a matter of minutes.

With only a few minutes away from the railway station and across the road that leads to the pedestrian zone, the location is absolutely perfect. Staff was very friendly and my apartment quite big. I'll come again.
Since I had a coffee maker in the room it would have been nice if I had had a few capsules as welcome gift. There is a supermarket opposite, but it would have been good to have something in the room. But this is only a minor issue.

The location and the staff.
The photos and descriptions of the room amenities are completely different from the room you actually receive at check-in.
If you are a light sleeper, I strongly recommend speaking with the front desk in advance about the type of room you are being assigned, as noise levels and room conditions may vary significantly.
