Our privately run hotel in the eastern outskirts of Dortmund enjoys a green and tranquil environment in a convenient location close to the motorway B1, the newly IT and Insurance hotspot Stadtkrone Ost, the football stadium Signal Iduna Park, the exhibition center Westfalenhallen Dortmund as well as the Dortmund airport. The Hotel Ambiente offers large and spacious rooms in a standard and comfort category, with Satelite tv, a desk, own bathroom with shower and free Wi-Fi internet access throughout the whole hotel. Every morning we serve in our modern styled restaurant a breakfast buffet. Relax with friends and business partners at our bar, in the lobby or on our outside terrace during the summer months. The hotel is close to the Stadtkrone Ost residential and business development where many IT , insurance and commerce companies are located as well as the Bundesbank Filiale Dortmund. There is also a luxurious spa and leisure center nearby at the lake Phenix. The closest underground station "Am Hauptfriedhof" with a direct connection to the city center is only a 5 min walk away from our hotel. Guests with cars will appreciate the free on-site parking at the Hotel Ambiente as well as the good connections to the motorways B1, A40, A1, A44 and A45 . The Stadtkrone Ost is only 0.9 mi (2 min drive) away from our hotel, the football stadium Signal Iduna Park 4.7 mi, the exhibition center Westfalenhallen Dortmund 4.5 mi, the City Center of Dortmund 4.2 mi, the central station 4.3 mi (direct underground connection), Lake Phenix 3.1 mi and the airport Dortmund 5 mi . Other main cities in the Ruhr Area like Bochum, Essen and Unna are easily reachable from here.

It is a converted officers mess from when the British were in West Germany. It is decorated very nicely and has a relaxed feel.
Perhaps some history of the property would be nice.

very close to our friends we were having dinner with and catching up. on checking out, i was asked if i would like a coffee to go, to which i replied yes please and a white tea for my wife! we also had two chocolate Santas outside the door! A very nice touch indeed! excellent stay, in a former BAOR Teachers Officers Mess.
noisy early morning guests leaving! Not the Hotels fault. Very quiet location.

Clean and quiet. I recommend this hotel.
Nothing I disliked about the hotel. Location was not great for me but likely not too bad for others. I was travelling with public transport out of town. It is not too far from 1 u-bahn line but quite far from the u-bahn I needed to get to where I was going. Not really anything that was an issue with the hotel to be honest.

Excellent staff, spacious room with quality fixtures and fittings. The building has real history too being previously used as service family’s accommodation by the British Army of the Rhein (BAOR). It is just sad that the Stadt seems to be happy to wipe from history any evidence that the British were once here in Dortmund.

Just a wonderful hotel and people. They put on free food before and after the match and could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The room was excellent very spacious and spotlessly clean. A 5 star experience thank you.

Breakfast was great. I ate a couple of nights at the Bistro. The burger was really good but the ribs did not have that much taste. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful. Rooms are very tidy and relaxing. Would definitely go back

Location
Quite large room with 1 small radiator in the corner which did not sufficiently warm the room, bathroom radiator was turned off. Arrived @ 10.40 pm and told the bar was closed but could purchase from vending machine in reception. Room was not serviced during stay so small bottle of water was not replaced.
