It had a bed and cheap beer
I had to move rooms, because of the foul stench, dirty blankets and mattresses, and there were about a dozen flies In my room as well, the bathroom was incredibly small, and the shower was practically useless.

The location to the station etc. 24 hour reception. The library area.
The dirty room, peoples rubbish still on the only bed that wad available. The smell in the room. Unfriendlyness of staff on reception. Everything done by phone no help at all. The noise, constant banging, of doors people noise.

Staff was okay and location wasn't far from the train station
Worst hostel I've ever been to. Smells and feels like a homeless shelter, the building is noisy, unclean, cramped and guests are the worst kind.
Please avoid at any cost.
How do they dare to charge even those 20 euros for a bed is beyond me. I booked last minute due to a cancellation and regret staying here.
Guests are loud, arguing, drinking and smoking in the dorms. Perhaps the streets would have been a safer option.

It was a clean nice hostel with an ultra friendly staff and spacious rooms. I got clean beddings upon check in and could actually fit in my bed which for me (198cm height) is a rarity as well as a luxury. The shower was of a commendable quality and exceeded expectations. Bodywash was provided as well.
My roomates were snoring and closed the only window in the room after a democratic vote meaning it was boiling hot and I couldn't fall asleep. Also the floorboards are so that stepping on them is very audible - a drawback in a room with multiple people that each walk around performing errands.

Location was ideal to do city sightseeing and access to central location
Toilets and showers were clean most of the time. Toiletries were also included, which is positive for this price.
Staff were helpful.
Be ready to experience some noisy and untidy guests, some of which were looking like homeless and long stay people. I almost could not sleep and had to check out one day earlier.
Breakfast was average in quality but highly priced.
I was expecting a more social a&o vibe, from my last experience in Vienna, but this hostel is just a sleeping place.

Very Good
Clean bed, clean toilet and shower. Plenty of rooms, not to be too crowded. Good for overnight stay. The toilet and showers were inside the room a very big plus. The first 2 beds were next to each other, not ideal if someone else sleeps there, the other two were bunk beds. Only 2 people in the room at that time, overall a good experience, if i need to stay for a night in Dortmund for sure I will return
The bed no. 1 and 2 were joined together so if the room was full 2 people need to sleep next to one another, other than that one of the lockers had the door broken and you need to have your own padlock if you want to use them to secure your stuff while going out. They have some padlocks down in the reception you can buy at a vending machine for about 5 € each (good to have one with you beforehand).
