25 degrees in the hotelroom was too much. Second year we experienced this. No possibility to cool down the room. Slepping with open window was not nice because of the traffic.

The lobby is quite pretty, decent room size that’s about all
I was given a floor on the second level, facing a busy street. The sound insulation towards the street was terrible and loud noise from vehicles was heard throughout the night. Also the sound insulation to the other guestrooms was subpar. Worst part was, that the sounds from the sewer pipes was extremely loud going through a wall in the bathroom. Even with the bathroom door closed the sound of black water falling down the pipes was easy to hear, absolutely disgusting. The shower had black stains which looked moldy on several places. The water pressure was too low, the shower head was very close to being completely broken, settings did not work. AC is old and very loud, had to turn it off to be able to sleep. Window shades were broken, room looked used, curtains were starting to fall apart. Staff is cold, distant and unfriendly, the minibar is empty, there is a store in the lobby. Considering the price, the premium branding, and the Steigenberger name and reputation, this stay was nothing but disappointing and infuriating to some extend. Every 60€ economy hotel will provide you with more quality and better infrastructure in my opinion. This was not my first, but definitely my last stay at Steigenberger Köln, they really fell off.

The staff were so lovely and had set up a bottle of Prosecco and two glasses in my room for my partners birthday , lovely surprise

Very nice hotel in Köln. Not the best placed, but public transport is so good, location is irrelevant. Would certainly stay here again, as loved the city and will almost definitely be returning.
