The privately run Mauritius Hotel & Therme is located in the heart of Cologne's Old Town, right next to the historic St. Mauritius Church. Our family-owned hotel combines modern comfort with a spacious 11 ft² wellness area – perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our individually designed rooms are modernly furnished and feature a flat-screen TV, stylish bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The wellness area of the Mauritius Therme – open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. – offers everything you need for deep relaxation: 6 different saunas (clothing-free use), a steam bath, 2 whirlpools, and a well-equipped fitness center. The indoor and outdoor pools can be used with or without swimwear. Sauna and pool areas are located on one shared, spacious level – ideal for a complete wellness experience. Please note: Access to the spa is only permitted for guests aged 12 and older. Massages and wellness treatments can be booked directly on site. Our rooftop terrace also invites you to relax and unwind in the open air. Culinary delights await in our restaurant, where we serve regional and international specialties. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kölsch beer in our spacious hotel bar. The Mauritiuskirche underground station is just 328 ft away – offering excellent connections throughout the city. Cologne Cathedral and other major attractions can be reached within a 20-minute walk.

You have to go outside and walk around the block to access to the rooms because or the blocked area for nakeds. It is mentioned that the hotel is childfriendly actually just the opposite. It is written that pools can be used by children but again everyone is naked so it is not possible. No recommended unless you want to walk around naked.

Good location, near the new part of the city center. Rooms fairly ok. But only minimum necessary in terms of everything.
Hotel stuff really under expectations. As far as I am concerned, in a touristic city and in an international hotel, I dont regard it as “special treatment” to have a normal conversation and be able to communicate in English. In regard of attitude and hospitality, I am sorry to say there is definitely place for improvement. No basic information provided for guests - at least for non German ones, no guidance to anything.

Very friendly and courteous staff. Lovely facilities. Would recommend this hotel for couples Evening meals reasonably priced and delicious.

Pleasant
Room was spacious for 2 large beds & chair was provided for shower. The massage treatments were very relaxing & needed & the practitioner was excellent. Cleaning staff very friendly & helpful. The fireplace area was very cosy & peaceful.
For disable Access, to upper level pool was too restricted & I did not use it. Access to hotel was difficult with pavement blocked with various items. Reception staff rude to the carer & residents came to help instead. Breakfast prices were high.

The room was fine as expected.
Obviously the walls were paper thin, as in most of the similar price level hotels, no surprise there. But for some reason the room door was rattling loudly from the resonance each time any other doors were opened or closed on the same corridor. Watch out for two things: 1. The "Therme" expression is quite a stretch. More of sauna/wellness area with occasional small size pools: a normal temperature indoor pool, and a hotter outdoor one. In the promo/marketing there is no mention at all that the area strongly favors nudism. We only learned this from the staff once we bought our day pass. Yes hotel guests need to pay extra entrance fee. If you're down with the nudism - or at least you're not fazed by judgemental stares of the nudist majority if you're still wearing swimwear - and you don't mind paying the entrance fee, make sure to pack your own bathrobe, as the hotel guests don't have an option to use the dressing room of the spa, and are forced to rent bathrobe and slippers (for another extra fee ofc) to walk from the rooms to the spa, oh and btw the route goes across the restaurant area. Despite the above mentioned shockers, we still enjoyed the hotter outdoor pool in the evening, in the dark it has nice ambient lights. Too bad the several naked guests were getting jiggy in the pool with each other, especially a pair right next to us, so we decided to bounce. So our stay in the wellness area lasted for 30 mins altogether, and this little maneuver cost 36 Euros for the two of us. 2. The old skinny dude at the reception: All the other staff were professional and friendly, even the cleaning ladies greeted us with smiles. So the attitude of this man stuck out like a sore thumb. He was arrogant and condescending. After the first shock encounter I refused to believe that a staff member is really that rude, and the next day I approached him again, asking some questions politely. Again, he responded in unacceptable manner.

Location and cleanliness
The swimming pool is for the people who are >12 years of age. If you wanna have breakfast later than 10:00 am you should go outside with a short walk than re enter the hotel to reach breakfast area. It is not handy to wear your coats and boots to have breakfast. But before 10:00am it is possible to pass through spa area to have breakfast. The only thing that we didn’t enjoy is reaching breakfast area. The hotel has no special parking place. There is a parking area with 500m distance and daily price is 30euro.
