The privately run Mauritius Hotel & Therme is located in the heart of Cologne's Old Town, right next to the historic St. Mauritius Church. Our family-owned hotel combines modern comfort with a spacious 11 ft² wellness area – perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. Our individually designed rooms are modernly furnished and feature a flat-screen TV, stylish bathrooms, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The wellness area of the Mauritius Therme – open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. – offers everything you need for deep relaxation: 6 different saunas (clothing-free use), a steam bath, 2 whirlpools, and a well-equipped fitness center. The indoor and outdoor pools can be used with or without swimwear. Sauna and pool areas are located on one shared, spacious level – ideal for a complete wellness experience. Please note: Access to the spa is only permitted for guests aged 12 and older. Massages and wellness treatments can be booked directly on site. Our rooftop terrace also invites you to relax and unwind in the open air. Culinary delights await in our restaurant, where we serve regional and international specialties. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Kölsch beer in our spacious hotel bar. The Mauritiuskirche underground station is just 328 ft away – offering excellent connections throughout the city. Cologne Cathedral and other major attractions can be reached within a 20-minute walk.

Disappointing
The staff demonstrated exceptional friendliness and attentiveness, contributing to a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Service from both the waiting staff and the bar was efficient and courteous. We ordered a late night meal, which was well prepared, flavorful, and visually appealing.
Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay were less than satisfactory. The pillows were uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. The rooms were not well soundproofed; we could hear footsteps from the room above, conversations and doors opening in the hallway, and even noise from the street late at night, which disturbed our rest around 2 a.m. In addition, certain facilities such as the spa required an extra fee, which was not clearly communicated in the advertisements. Parking also incurred an additional charge, and it would have been appreciated if this had been included in the booking price or made clearer beforehand.

The hotel was very modern and staff very friendly and helpful.
We were at opposite end of hotel to reception in what felt like a separate block and we were told we had to walk out round the footpath, rather than past the Spa to go to breakfast and get to reception. There was no kettle in the room to make a tea or coffee.

The hotel was overall very disappointing. It has two separate buildings, and both come with serious disadvantages. In the room I stayed, the bed was only accessible by climbing a very steep staircase, which was extremely inconvenient and unsafe. The elevator was also frequently out of order, which is a major problem for anyone staying on the upper floors. If you stay in the building where the spa is located, you have to walk a very long distance just to check in or check out, which is highly impractical.

I loved the staff. They were professional and attentive! I enjoyed paying for a massage service on-site. I had a great 90-minute session. I loved the location of the hotel to the main area of Cologne. The room was luxurious!

No water cooker, air condition didn’t work, booking.com showed me this place as family friendly but they are not, 320€ spent and we couldn’t go to the pool bc of the hotels restrictions which is not the hotels fault but booking.com

Probably just the location
As soon as we got dropped off outside the hotel, the stench was awful (smells of urine) The staff who checked us in was extremely miserable and scripted. The room was misleading from the pictures, the shower drain was very slow - continuously standing in your own shower water. Also on the website it's showing the swimming pool pictures which they failed to mention costs extra per person to use. (unless I have missed it) Initially we asked the reception staff and she did not mention anything about cost. When we decided to have a quick dip once late night, we were asked to pay. We were told we can only go in wearing the robe (unless you have brought your own) you have to pay extra and also to pay for the slippers. The walls and the curtains in the room have stains.

The location was very easy to access the city from and staff were nice
There was a mouse in our room and bins weren't emptied in our original hotel room upon arriving, the hotel did switch our rooms though.

The room was fine, with an AC , but also a window to open if you preferre that. A nice rooftop bar, but only open 15:00-22:45. Very friendly staff
It is also a Therme , ( which costs 10€ for hotel guests to use the pool), so the whole bar/dining area smells of swimming pool.

Wonderful
Location was close to public transport and near the Belgian Quarter for restaurants and bars. The spa was good value for money and we also went up to the roof terrace, although the bar wasn't open at the time we went up there. We had a great stay at the hotel.
