Big hotel with lots of amenities
The bathtub is slippery and my wife slipped when she was leaving it. Hopefully nothing bad happened but it's dangerous for people with less mobility

Staff, location close to the center with the view on the river, the SPA. The food at breakfast. The style of the building. It is a must-choose hotel if you want to visit Köln. They even had little treats for the guests at the reception such as little chocolates or apples.
One of the lifts was inaccessible because it was under restoration. The sweet part of the breakfast could be improved a bit, but was decent. There was a sink smell in the room initially, which quickly disappeared once we used it and opened the windows.

Abruptness of some of the staff. No still water in room. Only fizzy. Room service kept cutting the call, offering a one hour wait when they finally answered. Room too dark

The location was great - right near the centre and the many of the Christmas markets, which is why we were in Köln. The size of the room was good, and the bed/mattress was comfortable. They also had a gym which is nice to have on offer.
It is quite a dated hotel and could be a lot cleaner. Housekeeping came and did not replenish the coffee while we stayed and they also did not take away our mugs from our coffee from the first morning. To me, that means they likely don’t clean thoroughly. The pillows were very flat and small, and the bedding was lacking. There were also only two elevators for the big hotel which resulted in long lines. There wasn’t even an option to take the stairs which we asked for.

Location and breakfast
Rooms were in no good condition. We got a room where the phone was not working and the shower head did not have a holder. When I made staff aware of it, I was just told that she could not do anything about it right now since she “doesn’t know” and then said that maintenance is not working anymore and we had to wait until tomorrow. There was no way to get it fixed tonight and I just had to live with it. Eventually we got a hold of somebody who said that he would “call for maintenance” ?!?! I guess maintenance now was available?!? I told him that I wanted a new room and don’t want to wait hours for maintenance to fix something that was obviously broken and visible as soon as you walk into the bathroom. This room should have never been booked out. Our new room then had a fridge that was not working…… After We changed our rooms, we wanted to use the Spa that this hotel was supposed to have,….. first of all,…. The spa lady did not speak a word of English or German. Just Russian?!?!? Really??? The big and heavy glass door to the gym was broken and was dragging on the ground. I had to use a lot of strength to open the door just a little bit to squeeze through. No towels in the spa, pool or gym area and no help from the Russian speaking lady. The piano bar did not play music. The other bar didn’t play any music either. 1 elevator was broken during the entire stay and made waiting times long. The 2 working Elevators at times stopped on every single level, while going up or down. Our longest elevator ride took about 3min for 6 floors, without anybody going in or out. On the checkout, there was “confusion with the computer”?!? Check out took over 15min! Very disappointing!

Room was very basic, update is overdue; no electrical outlets next to the beds! Shower was messy. Fridge too small. Swimming pool was a total mess: water everywhere on the flor, water way too cold.

Wonderful
Infrastructure and location of the hotel are magnifficent. A bit of 90s vibes, with conferences happening there during the week. Its a busy/mall type of hotel with a fantastic location. The pool/saune are fantastic as well! Pets are allowed at an expensive daily fee.
The room I've got had no ventilation at all. The windows could have been opened, but for some reason we didn't have the key, only the maintenance folks.

We spent an overnight in this hotel. Great location to walk to so many sights. Hotel was fine. Would be fine to go back.
Had to go to the front desk to get towel and robe for spa for an extra charge. Didn't know this til I was already in my swimsuit and had to leave the spa area to go into the lobby to ask for towels.

At the first night( it was Sat) I didn’t get the laundry service ! But the receptionist supported me with iron set to manage my case as laundry are off on weekends!!!! Bathroom needs innovation Rooms are slightly small

Language barrier with employees. Room air conditioning was not adequate. We were put in the old portion of hotel with one elevator that was broken. The newer part of hotel was very grand!

Elevator takes forever. The staircase leads to outside of the hotel instead of the lobby. So neither is convenient.
