The hotel was apparently freshly renowated. In my room there was still a smell of "new furniture", like in the Swedish furniture store. It was very clean. Location is good in a sense that although quite far from the center, it is not far from the S-Bahn and the tram, with S-Bahn you are in the center in less than 10 min. Breakfast was good. The staff on check-in and check-out was very friendly. I liked that the check-out is standardly until 12:00. Very comfortable bed.
The room is modern design which unfortunately lacks fucntionality. Only open shelves, no wardrobe where you can place the clothes, and the cloth hangers are supposed to be on the rack which is just next to the... coffee machine. See picture. Who would ever have an idea to hang a white shirt next to the coffee machine? BTW coffee machine was nice, but no water boiler/tea maker. On the plus side, built-in chargers incl. USB, USB-C and even contactless phone charges all over the place in the room... Another minus point, when I was making a reservation via booking something like "sauna included" was mentioned but no sauna at place in reality.

Room was newly refurbed, however a half consumed bottle of water was on the table, no spoon for coffee, the bathroom mirror still had plastic on it and the shower leaked from the fittings not being tightened which flooded the whole bathroom and beyond. I was further ignored whilst going to brekfast

Friendly staff, comfortable and beautiful room, and everything was spotless. I might choose it again, but only if the price is more reasonable.
It's a shame the gym, sauna, and pool are closed. It's like two of the hotel's four stars are closed. The hotel will be perfect once these are completed.

Very Good
Salmon was a pleasant surprise and scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, falafels, bacon, baby brats, specialty fruits and jellies, plain and flavored yogurts with many fruits to put in. There were more breads than i could envision being needed. The typical dry sliced meats(yuck for me) good for y'all who like 'em. Turkish neighborhood had a good turkish restaurant(Adana Grill). plenty of food store/restaurants choices for walking. Bed was ok...hard for me ok for my frin. Staff smiled the whole time I attempted to get a different room but the different room AC system would not work so we went back to our original room. The room was silent on floor 6 and had a magnificent view of Koln. Sunset was a delight out our window: room #605.
Facilities were a little beat up.
