The rooms are clean and simple and the location is perfect.
Loud which wouldnt be a problem if there was AC so we needed the windows open. It did advertise AC. Second the machine to check in wasnt working properly and wouldnt issue key cards. We had to come back later to check in even though e we checked in after 3 pm. I had to call the number but if you call before 9 am or after 10 pm you might not reach anyone.

Great central location in the heart of alt stadt with sights, bars and restaurants all around, and less than 5 minutes walk to the Rhine. Only 10 minutes walk from the central train station. Good size comfortable room and we were fortunate to be on the 4th floor and to have a balcony with a view over the square and to the cathedral. It was very lively with bars etc outside but the soundproofing with windows closed and upper floor reduced the noise significantly so we weren't disturbed. We appreciated the environmental emphasis in the room.
Made clear in the hotel description, but would have been very noisy late into the night with windows open. Also probably noisier than usual due to a public holiday while we stayed.

It's the first time ever doing a self check in process and it was super easy & for ease/time saving, I recommend doing it before you go because then all you need is your Surname and Booking Reference code. The room was more like an apartment, spacious bedroom with a big TV & then a dining/kitchen area with also had a balcony albeit it seems to be home to two pigeons. Very clean, really cool vibe throughout the entire hotel and music playing in the public areas. We had a room that was on the bit of road that leads to a huge & popular square, didn't hear a thing with the window closed which was great. The bathroom was adequate, it was big enough for solo/couple of people, shower was huge, but the shower pressure was decent, but I've been very fortunate that showers in my recent trips have been top tier so I'm being very picky...also, you don't need to use your shower products, the one that's provided is a DELIGHTFUL smell...think Love Hearts candy, it was superb. Beds & pillows were very comfortable. Espresso machine with good coffee available. Location is also superb, 10mins away from Kln Hbf, 1min to the Heumarkt, 5 steps to Altermarkt, 3mins to Heumarkt Metro station, which takes you to all corners of the City. This hotel all in all, was superb in all aspects...if you're here for a few days.
Not much to dislike about the hotel in all honesty. Lift was stupidly small, two blokes and two cabin sized bags & it was beyond tight. The balcony while a nice bonus, needs to be cleaned just as regular as the rest of the building does.

The room was small, but cozy and comfortable, everything was in good condition and looks nice. The room was clean and warm.

Location was amazing. Central to the train station (10 min walk), tram stops (5 min walk), Rhein river tours (5 min walk). Right on a lovely cobbled square (Alter Markt) with several bars/restaurants and backs onto another square (Heumarkt) with more of the same. Augustiner am Heumarkt has the best atmosphere, staff, beer and food. Do not miss out on this one!
Loved hearing the bells from the church ringing out every hour.
Very convenient and easy checkin (no staff, just checkin online or at the kiosk on arrival). Great communication by email and booking app. Codes for arrival checkin were sent to us and we had no problems at all.
The toilet in the bathroom was awkward to get to. Luckily we arent particularly tall so managed but anyone with long legs may struggle.
