It felt a bit like a family-run B&B (keys were in a box with a code) but the rooms were lovely and VERY clean. The beds comfortable, the rooms large and each with their individual shape and design. The location was the best I've ever had in Cologne (I've visited many times) which was superb given one guest had limited mobility, so we were a very short walk from all the main sight-seeing attractions. Parking in "Parkhaus Am Gürzenich APCOA" (2 mins walk away) was a lot cheaper than expected (the sign indicated 30 euros for 24 hours, but we were only charged 10 euros!)
Nobody to receive us when we arrived (it was labour day in Germany), but we called the number on the door and they gave us instructions for the code box to get the keys and which rooms etc. etc. It all worked out very well but would have been nice if they sent us a message in advance so we knew this would be the case.

Excellent location, literally seconds from Cologne's central shopping street. Friendly staff, and there's a public underground parking place within 2min of walking distance from the hotel.
Noise can be heard at night from the main streets, and a kettle in the room would have been nice. Nearby parking can get expensive per day (upto EUR 25 from what I can remember).

quick check in, next door to the hotel. silent room(number 11), overlooking courtyard clean
as in so many hotels the curtains are really bad and do not blind small bath tub which is a shower as well: I rather have a normal shower

The hotel is near the train station and one block away from one of the main commercial streets. Despite that it's very quiet; we had no problem sleeping. Thw bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was a good size. We even had a tub. There's a hairdryer at your disposal as well, which for me is always a plus.
There's no elevator. Keep that in mind if you carry heavy luggage. We were on the first floor so it wasn't that bad. A mini-fridge would be a great addition to the room. And maybe a kettle and some cups to make tea. Otherwise, we had a great stay.
