Very Good
Easy to come and go and felt private. No noise from other guests. Nice bathroom. One of the members of staff (unfortunately didnt catch his name) was incredibly helpful when we had a slight problem with the hot water.
The lift doesn't go to the ground floor and the reception is on the first floor so you have to lug your suitcases up a flight or stairs. Not ideal if you have mobility issues. Also, this might just be a UK norm but there wasn't a kettle - but like I mentioned, it is possibly a very British thing to always have a kettle in a hotel room.

Own private washroom/shower in the room. The decor in the living room and breakfast room are cute. I was able to leave my luggage at the hotel before checking into the hotel. Breakfast for 15 euros was nice (only Gouda, sliced ham, bread, cereal/milk, hard boiled eggs, tea and coffee machine, apple juice w sparkling water). There's a lot of food options in the area too if you want something cheaper. Location is 24 minute walk from Köln Hbf by foot. Closest station (friesenplatz) to the hotel is a 5 minute walk. Check out was easy just drop off keys at front desk in the morning.
Unsafe area. Beware that friesenplatz station area is full of junkies and homeless. The station itself is overrun with homeless people on the stairways during rainy days... Walking by foot seems safer. I would not recommend this location based on area alone.
The check in process was very unprofessional. The reception person (seems to be the only one running the hotel?) has a strange attitude problem. I wonder if she's "tante alma"? My room wasn't ready when I came to check in at 3pm as per the booking page. I asked her when it would be ready and she said she didn't know and said it was because previous guests checked out late. I waited in the living room. I was getting worried that perhaps the hotel was going to deny me a room and leave me stranded as she wouldn't start the check in process. I sent a message on booking.com app to let the hotel know that 3pm was the check in time and my room wasn't ready and to inform me when it would be. And within 15 minutes the receptionist came to let me know my room was ready and then she proceeded to start checking me in. My room 307 itself was not sound proof - could hear people talking in the hallway through the door. The shower head was broken or in disrepair and would fall on me when turning off the water. The drain is also quite slow to drain water.

Modern, clean and spacious rooms.

Nightlife nearby; loud and noisy people outside.
'Tante Alma' concept is artificial and somewhat off, it does not fit the hotel building and interior.
Pillow was far too soft.
It takes effort to get one's room cleaned. QR code in the bathroom is needed, which still did not work properly.

Location to a concert was good. Room was clean. Bed fine. Good that there's a Rewe next-door.
The location had quite a few smack heads right outside the door. There's a fridge in the room but no kettle ( I took my own though).
The lift didn't work so difficult with a suitcase.
The water in the shower didn't get warm.

The room was cute and cozy, really simple but decorated with love. The staff was very nice and the hotel offers cake and coffee for free at around 4 pm.I didn't have time to try it and only stayed one night but the hotel served my purpose perfectly.
My room looked to the main street and on Saturdays it was pretty noisy until late. It's not super laid but maybe something to take into account If you're very sensitive.

The hotel was at a very convenient location, at a walking distance from the center and in a very vivid and nice neighbourhood. There was a nice bakery just nearby the hotel.
The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable. There was an issue with the shower which was fixed immediatelly by the staff, very polite and responsive people.

Location
Staff extremely rude, unhelpful, terrible attitude. Room smelled bad. Paid for baby cot which was not in the room. Went to reception to resolve, staff were pretty disinterested but did arrange for a cot to be sent to the room. Received a cot (unbuilt) only to find it was broken. Returned it - no apology. Received a second cot - which I then setup. Furnishings in the room are in terrible condition. 1/10 roll of toilet roll on the room. No hot water on 2 days! Elevator is laughable, not reliable and space for 2 small people. not suitable for families with children in push chairs.
