Very Good
On my latest trip to Cologne I was staying for a total of two weeks in and around the Cologne area. I picked this hotel due to it's proximity to the University and it looked cool from the photos. The rooms and general vibe was very artsy and quirky, which I like. The breakfast was wonderful and the hotel was quiet. Very pretty place.
Everything was very nice, the only thing lacking, and most people won't really care, was the 'fitness room' was an elliptical machine and a single cable machine. I would have liked a few dumbbells and maybe a cushioned yoga mat for stretching and floor exercises.

The staff was really nice and the location was suitable for my concert visit. The hallway is pretty. The hotel felt safe for Solo traveling.
It was really expensive for what it was. My room had a weird smell and on a table was a used water bottle which made me think the room was not cleaned well. The room i had had no personality It was blain and boring.

The facilities are very good, the building itself. The room had everything you would need for a short stay. The room was on the side of the garden and it was very quiet, despite the fact that it is located in an area with plenty of restaurants. I stayed here for one night since I was going to a show at the Comedia theater, the theater is less than 10 min walk. The area has restaurants, bakeries, supermarkets, and pharmacies.

Location in a non-touristic neighborhood but close enough to get to sights, good restaurants. Beautiful architecture and vibe. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Lots of nice non-touristy restaurants in the area.
At this price, room should be tidied daily without needing a 24 hour advance notice; bathroom should include shampoo and conditioner rather than just soap; architectural details are great except the shower head overpowers the angle of the shower floor such that the bathroom floor gets wet; the sink basin is set into wood and the faucet splashes onto the wood behind the sink. Damage is already visible to the wood and cabinets behind the sink.

The location was excellent, near Chlodwigplatz in one of the prettiest Cologne neighbourhoods. Near cafés, restaurants, a supermarket, bakeries, a drugstore.
I found the furniture arrangement crowded with little space to move freely. If you are travelling with a suitcase there would be no space to place it.

My daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights. Extremely helpful and friendly staff on the desk. We were able to drop our luggage early,offered water and toilet facilities so we were able to comfortably go exploring the city before checking in that afternoon. Bed was very comfy and had excellent sleep during the stay. We can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have it, but the dining area for breakfast looked beautiful. The hotel is in a super location, just away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to all the sites. We walked everywhere in the city, but hotel is close to bus stops if you prefer. Only 30 minute walk to the Cathedral and Central train station - we visited Koblenz and Bruhl (Phantasia Land) by train. Cologne zoo and cable car are easy to reach via the local 18 train. And the Shokoladen museum is only about a 10 minute walk, well worth a visit and does delicious cakes and hot chocolate! Wouldn't hesitate to book the Hopper St Josef hotel again if we return to Cologne. Had a fantastic break!
The water from the shower does spill out onto the floor, we simply put the floor towel down but it does mean you are stepping out onto a wet floor. We stayed at the front of the property and there is a bar across the road open until late, we had the window open the first couple of nights so could hear some noise (you can't hear anything with the windows shut) but it didn't really bother us or disturb our sleep, it may be annoying if you are a light sleeper.
