The location was the primary reason the I stayed here. My husband became ill while we were on vacation, and ended up in the hospital just a few blocks from here. It was so convenient to be just a short walk away from there to be with him, as much as needed. The proximity to the train station was also a plus. The staff was also very accommodating when I needed to have some documents printed and some computer assistance. Also, they were understanding of my need to reserve the room for just a few days, then extending a day or 2 at a time, due to the uncertainty of his discharge date.
Breakfast was wonderful!
The bathtub seemed very dangerous to me. It was slippery, with no bath mat or a textured bottom. Also, it was a high step to get in & out; without the grab bar, I would have felt very unsafe, and even with it, it was uncomfortable. The bath faucets were very hard to figure out how to divert the water to the shower head...maybe brief instructions on the vanity would be helpful. Maybe they are common here, but I had never seen anything like them in my home country or other travels.

The hotel felt very luxurious and I’m not used to luxury. The security made sure to watch my luggage when I had to use the restroom in the lobby.

Excellent central location to explore Cologne with parking available. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. The rooms were very large & the breakfast selection was excellent with gluten free options on request. Would recommend.
Cost of parking was slightly too expensive but convenient & secure.

The location is excellent, close to the river and the train station. The room was spacious, modern, and up to date. The shampoo and body wash were surprisingly pleasant.
It's a pity that there were no bathrobes or slippers in the room and that we had to call to request them, this doesn't give a five-star experience. During check-out, there was a long queue around 11:20 AM. Only two staff members were present, despite there being multiple computer stations, and the Front Office Manager was in the back office.

Room was not cleaned the first day despite letting the receptionist know we wanted it cleaned.Staff did not go out of their way to do anything.
The location was great.
More customer service on arrival, helping with bags etc, rooms to be cleaned when requested.Thermostats were not very user friendly.

The room size was good. The breakfast was good. Service levels wise - We had to take our own luggage to our rooms; which was unlikely for a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is old and the room looks like it. maybe a little renovation would help the property. they could have given more items for the coffee/tea part of things.

We only stayed 1 night and had an Executive room, which got us access to the lounge. That was very good, a reasonable selection of hot and cold food, good choice of drinks, and 2 small terraces that give you good views of the city. We had breakfast in there too, which again had good choices. My wife has soya milk and they had every milk choice available, not all places are that accommodating.
There was only 1 hot meal choice in the lounge so if you didn’t like that you would not have enough to eat.

The location was convenient.
In addition to the charge for the room, I was told that a "block" of Euro 584.65 was placed on my credit card, probably in case of damage to the room. That "block" of Euro 584.65 went through as a charge to my credit card which I have had to pay. I called and emailed Marriott Cologne repeatedly and was told that it was only a block or hold and to contact my credit card provider, which I have done. Unfortunately that charge has never been reversed and I have lost Euro 584.65.

The stay was amazing, our suite was massive and extremely clean & comfortable, full of sunshine and a view of the Rhine. The club lounge was brilliant and especially the host in club lounge Mr Rizal went out of his way to procure me a jar of the local Mustard jam. Extremely gratified and impressed.
None, as such.
The only tiny issue would be that ACs in suite need to be stronger, as it gets a lot of gorgeous sunshine, which makes it warmer.

Great breakfast. Love the honeycombs & freshly made eggs. Ice machine right in front of the room was greatly appreciated.
AC was not working very well, room became slightly warm. Amenities such as slippers and bathrobes not immediately available (need to be requested).
