The location was good and was close to the Cathedral and Christmas Markets as well as good restaurants.
The outside of the building did not reflect the rooms inside. Also the lift was very old and with 2 or 3 people and luggage it was making bagging sounds. Only used it once after that used the stairs to walk up and down.

Location is very good.
Even if on booking it's is said that no prepayment required and we can pay on premises - they ask to pay in advance by withdrawing money from your card and putting it on hold, which is basically for the customer is prepayment.

Great location and friendly staff. The hotel had most of the basic facilities expected.
The airco was centrally controlled so the room was too hot for us, which meant we had to open the window. That meant we could hear all the partying through the night.

We liked the option of paying to pre book early check in. Very helpful at check in, offering us a map and talking us through the location and best time to visit each of the Christmas markets. The room was modern and clean and a reasonable size for a comfort twin room type. The hotel is in a great location with all the benefits of being in Heumarkt whilst being in a quiet courtyard so protected from the worst of the noise. We found all of the markets to be walking distance with Heinzels on our front door to a 30 minute walk to Stadtgarten park market, although it would be easy to hop on and off public transport if preferred. We definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Cologne.
The lift wasn't working which for us was no problem as we only had to do one flight of stairs but for others it might have been more.

Besides the clean and well maintained room, there very kind staff was there for every need we had. Even though we only stayed one night because of a concert in Cologne, it felt very welcoming and comfortable. The next day they even let us have breakfast at the verge of the closing time, since my mum needed a bit more time to get ready. We were able to leave our backpacks there after checking out and spent the day walking around the city. That was very kind, thank you very much to all the staff. The breakfast was great.
Maybe the strong cleaning product smell in the toilettes of the underground floor… that was very intense. And the hotel is not very easy to find, but that is not a bad thing.

Nice decoration, very central, no carpets. Long breakfast hours and over all quiet hotel despite being in center.
AC in Autumn was centrally controlled (was unable to alter settings of temperature) and blower was not powerful at all. Only one blower near door. Room extension time options could be more flexible.

Great central location, short walking distance from station and Dom. Clean modern room, excellent shower Nice breakfast Helpful staff, stored our luggage for a few hours
Breakfast was quite expensive There was a club in the square which played loud music until 3am.
