Good breakfast and comfortable room
No working elevator! Had to carry my luggage up the stairs, many stairs. Did not have a heads up about this. Was not clear on where to park so ended up in an expensive garage.

Very warm and welcoming staff. They have to buzz you in for some reason as the door is locked, but they are always available on WhatsApp. It's not modern or new or fancy, but for the price it works. The location is great, a few minutes walk from the hbf and the Rhein river. Check in and out was easy and smooth. There was a smart tv with Netflix and prime video which worked perfectly and i liked it very much. Heating worked well. There are blackout curtains or just sheer ones and also drapes so privacy wasn't an issue. All in all it was a perfectly ok stay for me, especially for the price and location.
The elevator wasn't working for some time now, but it didn't say so in the description of the booking. I got the room at the top floor and had to carry all my luggage up 6-8 flights of stairs. Wasn't ideal... For me it probably wouldn't have been a deal breaker but I guess for older people/people who can't do that many stairs it would. Probably should specify that im the description. There was a sign mentioning a fix being on the way but as of beginning of December still out. There was also a sink in the bedroom, which turned out to be a convenience surprisingly but it did catch me off guard at first, maybe for some that wouldn't be ok, for me it was fine. Also the you had to have 2 keys with you at all times, one for the main entrance and ome for your room. It's less convenient than a card surely, but as i said it's not a modern lodging. All in all it was a perfectly ok stay for me, especially for the price and location.

Good location and hotel is very nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Language barrier made things a little difficult but we worked together to figure everything out.
Use of keys was a bit old fashioned but not too bothersome.

Wonderful
Convenient location near Hauptbahnhof and Dom and Rhine, beautifully quiet, looking out on a leafy green courtyard at the back with a view of St Kunibert's church. Great room. We had asked for two separate beds for two of us (sisters) and were given a lovely suite/family room with a double bed and sofa bed. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.
The only thing missing was tea/coffee in the room.

I'm older I have trouble walking - no one came to the front to help me carry my suitcase up the stairs from the street to the front entrance. The rooms we requested were not together but rather separated by floors. A stained sheet was not replaced. The "bar" was seldom open and not after 8pm

I could early check-in for free. Very nice breakfast. Personal atmosphere.
The very small elevator did not reach the top floor. Still some steps to climb to the room. Also entrance has steps, be aware if you can't handle that.

The location of the hotel is good, 10 minutes walk from the Cologne Cathedral. The Parking place with the reasonable cost was on the same street. Good breakfast and really good coffee.
The sink was inside the room rather than in the bathroom. I appreciate that this is a historic building and the interior design options are therefore limited, but still it was not so comfy to brush teeth next to your bed.

Pretty lovely, love the high ceiling of the room. Very good location. 15 minute walk to the Heinzel Christmas market and 6 minute walk to the train central station. The staff is very nice.
The shower is small , hard to shower the children.

Pleasant
I had a compact single room. The hotel itself is in a quiet and calm area. Windows are soundproof. I had peace there.
The single room is overpriced for the facilities provided. There isn’t enough socket. Facilities are very basic. The breakfast doesn’t have much variety. I wish there were some hot meat like omelette.
