Great value for money, good amenities. The hotel has AC so it perfect for summer months.
Unfortunately there was only one elevator working which was annoying we had to take the stairs because it was always busy. The stairs were on the side of the building.

Only the location
There was an outdoor parking lot, and when we arrived, a window was broken because someone had stolen from a car. I mentioned it at reception, but it was like talking to a brick wall. One of the elevators wasn't working; there was only one, and it was always crowded. The stairs were at one end of the building.

Stunning hotel. So modern, well-equipped and with lots of nice little touches that made us feel welcome. It feels like a luxury hotel at budget prices! The room was beautifully decorated with lots of artistic elements. The beds were very comfortable and the shower was huge and hot. The best thing about the room was the air con - amazing! The fridge in the room was also a nice addition. The hotel is well located on the Rhine and directly next to both the chocolate museum and the Olympic museum.
The only tiny irritation was that there isn’t a ramp up to the front entrance for wheeling luggage. You have to go up a short flight of steps.

It is a stone’s throw from the Ferris wheel and the chocolate museum. There is a pizza/pasta restaurant just over the bridge. Other restaurants are just a couple of blocks away. It was great that breakfast was served till 12 - and it’sa full warm and cold buffet. The room is laid out in a modern hip way, so e we were not shocked at the wash-up sun being outside of the bathroom. Thank you for having a comprehensible air conditioning system - even if the fan speed is not adjustable! Parking can either be underground or next to the hotel (both for a fee) and they both get full on the weekend. Across the street, under the bridge, is another above-ground paid parking. However, as a female solo-traveler I would never give myself the option to enter or leave that parking area at night. It is a bit dark and isolated.

The art’otel Cologne is in a great location, the room was spacious and considering it is by a road we heard no traffic (we were in a room on the road side rather then the river), gym was great and although I read other reviews saying it was small it was great for a quick workout in the morning.
