Very Good
The hotel has an austere exterior but the artworks and colour is inside. I liked my painted glass bathroom wall, enjoyed the various teas with jug in bedroom, comfortable bed. Pleasant 5-10 minute walk along Rhine to city centre. Bus stop is nearby to the train station if don’t want to walk.
A minor detail… I’d like bigger cups for bedroom cup of tea.

The hotel itself was very nice.
Everything about the hotel was basically fine. Its location was a bit disappointing, but there were no other hotels available when I booked. As it turns out there was some kind of convention in town and I’m imagining that’s what took up all the other hotels. This hotel was not near the underground. There was a single bus that took me into town and it was a rather lengthy walk to get to food stores and restaurants. Not terrible just not the best location. Lastly, with the exception of one person, the people at the desk had no idea how to advise a tourist about getting around town. They didn’t know the sites and they didn’t know the ways to get to them. That is a bit unusual and was quite inconvenient. There was one exception who saved the day for me, Scheherazade. She was excellent. She knew where everything was, what it was and how to get there. She was excellent.

This is a light, bright, airy hotel in perfect proximity to all the key sights in Cologne and close to public transport. The hotel provides everything you are likely to need and the rooms are comfortable and well arranged.
