Location is excellent, close to trams and lgbt bars and supermarkets…
The USB sockets by the bed simply did not work… even if they did work they weren’t proper power outlets, so that was a major annoyance for me staying in the top bunk bed, I stayed in many hotels and I haven’t any without proper power outlets.Also no curtais for the bunk beds, not only for privacy but there’s no indovodual bed lights so when someone needs to turn the lights in the whole room is lit up

Being a solo traveler who has visited more than 20 countries and stayed in many hostels all over Europe, I can confidently say that this is the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.
First of all, before my arrival, I requested a lower bed due to my back pain, and the hostel confirmed that it would be available. When I arrived, the receptionist even assigned me a lower bed number. However, after checking in and going to the room, I found someone already sleeping in my assigned bed.
When I went back to the reception to explain the situation, no proper solution was offered. The receptionist was completely helpless and did not try to provide any alternative solution — not even another bed in a different room or any attempt to help me get the bed that had been assigned to me. He just kept saying, “Sorry, I can’t do anything.”
Other issues:
* The rooms smelled very bad.
* There was no air conditioning, and the room was extremely hot to the point that it was difficult to breathe.
* The rooms are not soundproof at all, and you can hear all the noise from outside.
* The elevator felt unsafe and looked like it could break down at any moment.
* They sell bakery items at the reception, but unfortunately there were flies inside the bakery showcase.
* The location is not great, as you need to walk around 10 minutes to reach the nearest tram station.
* The corridors on the floors also smelled bad.
This was my first and definitely my last experience with the a&o chain.
I do not recommend this hostel to anyone looking for decent service or even basic comfort standards

Location
Tiny room with even smaller toilet inside. The toilet is not sound proof with a bar at the bottom of the door serving as ventilation. The room was shabby. The business model of a low-cost airline: you need to buy everything including a lock to store your staff in the room. No regular comfy spirit of a hostel where you can meet and chat with interesting people. Unfortunately, i was also unlucky with the neighbours.

I didn’t feel safe in that location. Rooms tooo short !!. My room was not cleaned and then they moved me to another one and also it didint smell well and it had dust in the bed, so I had booking for two days but I can’t stay one night more. Never again !

The room was comfortable
It was very noisy, also the kitchen was not well equipped, no cutlery to use or cooking tools. Frying pans did not work with the induction stove. Also, you had to get a key for the kitchen from the front desk.. it was inconvenient if they were busy.

Liked the location - very close to Tram station and accessibility is so good to reach city center. Lot of restaurents and shops at a walkable distance. Its not isolated, lot of people around. Staff was very friendly and helpful
Kids were shouting all day - could not do some tasks in laptop peacefully. Random people were knocking at door at times.
Water went out unexpectedly - later discovered a notice, but it delayed my plans a little bit.
Bed was too hard. Room was very warm - could not open window too much so sleep quality was affected.

we were two siblings travelling with three children so the room set up was accommodating.
reception desk was only manned by one person most times we were there with lengthy queues - this worker was also running coffee shop / everything.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, couldn't praise them more. Location a 10 minute walk from the city centre (20 mins to the cathedral), rooms clean and comfortable. Secure parking available (at a cost). I will return. Thank you.
I thought that €20 for overnight parking was a little excessive. But the staff member was really kind to us and we got to keep the care there for some time the next day. I imagine if busier we would have had to move the car.

Severe invasion of privacy and security breach at A&O Cool Hotel Newmarket.
I returned after a long day to find I had been checked out without any notice, despite having a valid ongoing booking. Staff had entered my room, removed all my belongings—including my passport and cash—and handed them to me in a plastic bag at reception in front of other guests. Completely unacceptable and deeply unsafe.
I had clearly informed them at check-in that I had two bookings and wanted to stay in the same room. Instead, I was moved to a different room that was much smaller and further away—a clear downgrade.
I have stayed in many hotels across Europe and have never experienced anything like this. This should never happen in any hotel.
