The location and the room
Checking in was difficult, the A&O app didn't work (it couldn't find my reservation) and I wasn't sure if I could get into the hotel. Luckily there was an employee who helped me to check in, I'm not sure if I could manage alone

I want to give the location a 100/10. We could see the Köln cathedral from our place which I loved. Very comfortable and staff were very kind.

It was very convenient for the station and restaurants in the city. The room was clean and tidy, if small, but that was expeccted.
Registration was frustrating is its self-check in and there was no one readily around to help with the problems that we had.

Its 2 mins walk from Dome and maybe 10 mins from train station. I would recommend this for a short stay and just to have place to stay. In summer its hot because no AC and loud from the street if the window is open. Good value for money.
A fan would be good to have and a bottle of water in summer. The online check in is not yet smooth.

The location is very good near Dom, also automated check in into the hostel was pretty nice to have. Bed with pillows were of a good quality, I would say.
Completely ignored request made during reservation regarding separate beds, despite writing about it a long time in advance and receiving reply that separate beds are available in double room.
Unhelpful support of hostel, that tried to call reception for this issue(despite me saying that noone was there for an hour), and gave up after one call without resolving the issue.
Hygiene in the bathroom was not the best, especially near shower, where there were some kind of rust-like marks.
Breakfast is pretty mid at best despite being 12.5 euros for 1 person, is not worth it at all, don't buy it, will be cheaper and better to go out find breakfast yourself
Price was high in my opinion for the service we received, we paid 380 euros for a room for 2 people for 3 nights in middle of June 2026

Location, location, location! You’re right by the Dom (we were able to see it outside the window).
Questionable people hanging out day & night right next to the hotel (stairs on the sidewalk).

Location is 5-minutes walk from the Cathedral and Main station. I arrived at 7 a.m. and the staff was at the property, so I could leave my luggage at storage room before check-in at 15-00.
Cathedral’s bells ringing several times early in the morning. But that was my fee for such a convenient proximity to the city center:) so, if you plan to sleep late in the morning, this variant is not for you:)

Easy walk from the train station. View of the Cologne Cathedral out the window, pretty when lit up at night. Staff were helpful. Room was clean.
The room was small and the bathroom very small, but adequate.
