I book a comfort room with balcony and river view when I reach I’m shocked that they give me a room look like a prison dark,small, no balcony and no view at all.
I ask the receptionist gently to check with her supervisor to negotiate and change the room! the team leader simply said u want take u don’t want go out and they cancel my booking while I’m still in the reception and booking not help with this matter because they mentioned that I left from my side while it’s a lier I do not cancel they ask me to leave and they will refund and I find out that they not refund and they won’t they just want me to leave. Zero hospitality zero service and cheaters as well.

Wonderful
The hotel is ideally located for arrival by train and departure by boat and is perfect for exploring Cochem on foot.
There is no air conditioning in some (or possibly any of the rooms), so the heat waves that are now common in the summertime⁷ can be uncomfortable. Electriict fans are available.

Disappointing
Location was amazing. Steps to bridge, only 10 min walk into center of town. View of castle, bridge, opposite shore & river from spacious balcony was beautiful.
Room tastefully decorated.
Receptionist (short red hair) was helpful and friendly.
Free "public" parking near by (20€ deposit for card to put on car dash refunded upon check out).
Rolls at breakfast were the best in a month of traveling Germany.
Wifi was good.
Room was very small. Not enough room to unpack bags, put luggage down etc. Everything felt extremely tight. More shelves somehow please! The bedside tables are way too small, and bare light bulb fixtures on them are too harsh, and take up too much room.
Although nights & mornings are cool, the sun begins to hit the full glass front of the balcony and doesn't let up until near 9:30 pm (this is June). This turns the (no A/C) room into a really HOT space. The provided fan was not sufficient to cool it down (and when you open the ONLY "window"/door to attempt to cool off, you are on display for all to see), and when we asked for a stronger fan, we got nothing. Invest a few euros in better fans! The hallway was cooler!
The refrigerator in the room did not work at all, it was hot, and we were forced to toss food that went bad.
The shower sprayer holder was broken, so you had to hold it, or wedge it (dangerously) in the sharp, broken holder (photo attached).
The toilet paper holder was broken (see photo) so that was useless as it dropped onto the floor & now toilet paper has to take up the valuable small amount of space in RR.
The toilet scrubber was inches from where you sit, and dirty/gross (photo).
The only table in the room to sit at wobbled. Previous guests had wedged paper under the base to no avail. The top was loose and annoying!!! (Especially when working/writing.)
Bed uncomfortable.
I think that this hotel used to be owned by Germans (who truly understand that details matter!) but isn't anymore? It wouldn't take a lot of work or euros to fix some of these issues.

The location particularly.
There never was anyone at the registration/ front desk - for the 2 days we were there. We had to ask someone from the restaurant including a waiter who checked us in. He couldn’t split the bill for the 3 rooms and he couldn’t generate an extra key for each room.
Also the staff at the restaurant were not very friendly or helpful. They appeared not to like their jobs.
The rooms do not have air conditioning.

staff was nice. location was a 10 plus!!
suite was tiny. only place for luggage was on couch, so not usable as a suite. after day one they wouldn't give us coffee, stir stick or clean glasses even after asked. lots of dust on floors.

Hotel am Hafen was in a great location just across the bridge, with light traffic making it easily accessible. The view of the castle and river made sitting on the balcony a lovely experience. The room was clean and spacious, though the bathroom was a bit tight. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options. While we didn’t have dinner at the hotel, we noticed many people crossing the bridge to dine there. The staff were friendly and welcoming at check-in.
What we didn’t like: the bathroom space was tight, and no shampoo was provided. Also, be warned that things in the area tend to close relatively early, so plan accordingly

The view is just great! The breafast is average. It happens often that there is no-one at the Reception.
but the staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is free.
The breakfast was average and can be improved. I wanted a cappuccino, it cost separate 2,5 euro
We checked in at Easter time, so we didn't get a usual explanation about breakfast time, wifi code etc. I think more staff shoud be hired for peak time.

The hotel is in an exceptional location in Cochem really close to the train station on feet and also by car while the hotel also offers a restaurant with good food. I believe it’s a bit pricey but this is basically because of the location and Germany in general. However the staff was polite, friendly and really nice and helpful with anything we needed.
