The whole place gives a nice grand feeling. The building is a very old one. It is well kept and the facilities are quite good. The breakfast was really nice and the cigar lounge looked great! (Did not get the time to use it)
Although we had booked one of the bigger and more expensive suites that they have and had requested an early check-in, we did not receive the key even a single minute earlier than the official time. The bathroom looked great but one could smell the sewerage given the old piping behind the new finish. The room was comfortable but had a very "old" look and feel

Wonderful hotel which lived up to being 5*. It was very relaxing to stay with great staff, who were always on hand. Breakfast is quite expensive, but was included in our deal and plenty to choose from. The restaurant is very impressive and good to show your friends in your photo album. The weather was bad when we stayed, but you are not trapped in your room and can relax in the large lounge (or bar). Most enjoyable.
The location is a bit of a boring walk into the city, but you can get a tram if you go across the park to Am Stern stop.

The atmosphere is gorgeous and so is the breakfast. The stuff changed to the good. Very friendly and we love the rooms who havent been renovated yet.
It takes sometimes a long time to refill the breakfast. Pool and sauna could be held open a little longer.

Beautiful location on the edge of a gorgeous park. Art deco decor. Very comfy and beautiful building
The staff were mostly excellent but the lady seating people at breakfast was extremely rude and very put out that lots of individual guests had turned up at a similar time wanting to eat. Presumably that normally happens! I was shouted at and given a half clean table. They did clear it but didnt wipe up the crumbs and spills from the previous guests. It was all very at odds with the otherwise peaceful ambiance. I also thought it was a bit expensive for the size rooms.

Beautiful location, short walk to city center and stations, yet in peaceful park. Gives a smooth holiday feeling. Staff is helpful and easygoing, from reception to spa to restaurant. Good food, and spa had enjoyable outside heated pool - if you were lucky to be there with maximum one-two other people. Very vast gym section with a view, so for anyone keen training while staying, it's already a game changer (as most top hotels have tiny one with 4-5 options - in basement).
Overall feeling from smell to textiles from late 1990s. From far it's a palace, closer like cruise ships sailing between Finland and Sweden, with lots of try to meet classic luxury. But if the building is just about 30 years old, it's fake 'old glam' fails, yet feels outdated. Beds should have top mattress, as now you can feel bows on your back, and shoulders aching after laying on side for a while. Air conditioning unit sounded like old fridge, and speeded up at times making it like a warplane. Chair upholstery was ripped; in 5* property such can't be left unnoticed. Also classic failure when hotels advertise "Finnish sauna": It's Finnish, if sauna is used as it's supposed to work - throwing water on hot stones. Otherwise it's just a mild oven. Something "luxury hotels" seem to miss. What's the point of the stones at all, if not throwing water for steam? Electric heater would otherwise do the job.
