Disappointing
The location is great, as well as a welcome drink service. The breakfast is good, but not worth 37 euro pp.
The AC did not work properly and as we learned at the check out it was due to the fact that it was shut down. Opening the window didn’t help, as there was no breeze coming from the inner yard. The corridors on the floors were stifling, with no air at all. The room was clean, but shared spaces for example the elevator was not. We also did not have a full set of towels, and had to ask for them at the front desk. Moreover, we experience some mistreatment during check in, the lady was rude and judging our looks, but at the check out this situation was discussed and a remedy was proposed and accepted.

The room had a lovely view onto Gendarmenmarkt. The service at breakfast was very attentive, professional and friendly. No request was too much trouble for them. The reception staff were very helpful and we really felt we were getting a 5* experience. The location was excellent for seeing the main sights and to be able to access underground trains.
Maybe a swimming pool, but not sure if that would be necessary given we were in Berlin for sightseeing, but it’s probably the only thing that could be added.

Very Good
Location was excellent. Decor was comfortable. Staff were friendly and efficient.
There was no air conditioning because of the age of the building, which is no problem. But we weren’t informed of that and there was a fan system that had aircon type controls. So we couldn’t figure out why our room was do hot all the time.
