Though it was shown in Booking.com it's ok to accommodate my child of 15 years, the reception forced us to book another room on the spot. Travellers beware. Be prepared for these unexpected forced expenditure. However it was possible to accommodate a family of four in a room with a big double bed and two bunk beds. The kitchen and all food options close down after breakfast.

The hotel was quite near the historical monuments and museums.
The room was too small, no place to put the luggage, very noisy. The first day of our stay there was no water at all for several hours: we could not take a shower. The room has never been cleaned , even when I asked for that.

The location was excellent. Close to all the main attractions with a tram stop right outside the door and a number of cafes and restaurants close by.
There were a lot of school groups staying which meant the reception area was always crowded and noisy. The water went off unexpectedly one morning. The shower had a gap under the doors which meant the bathroom floor flooded. There were no cups in the room.

The hostel is just 3-4 min away by walking from Museum Island (Museumsinsel). The bunk bed is very comfortable, actually more comfortavle than I thought (lower bunk I selected). There is much space between lower and upper bunk (you sleep in a wider space in height). There is just one toilet and shower belonging to the room and they are seperate, it's good; but there are not common toilets or showers except for the ones existing in the room. Towel is included in the price and lays on the bed when you first come to the room. In addition, you can change your towel if you want without a fee. There are sheets on the beds ready to sleep (you don't have to spread out linens) and I liked it as well (some hostels give you linens at the entrance and you have to prepare the bed yourself).
There are not common toilets or showers else than the ones in the room.
