The building was nice but very dated. No plug sockets next to the bed and no working Internet nor chromecast
Pretty much everything else. I have disability requirements I pre arranged before booking. Not only did they not implement them, none of the features of the room worked. The pool has been closed for the last year, breakfast was very poor, no working Internet, no chromecast, no air conditioning. Literally nothing worked. We were offered lounge access when I cant drink alcohol as compensation. It was a trip for my birthday and theh claim to be a central location. Its a 20+minute walk to anywhere central and to boot, the hotel food triggered a gall bladder infection as it wad so fatty, despite me never having problems before. It was so severe I was screaming in pain trying to get outside to leave and instead of helping, the staff and security stalked us as they hadn't taken payment off our card when we checked in as they claimed they had. Nothing was mentioned until we were about to leave. I nearly died and they were treating us like criminals. Absolutely disgusting hotel. The staff were that rude and dismissive we complained to Marriott HQ in the USA who were appalled at the service we received. STAY LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE!

Service is polite, but not prepared and not professional. They failed to perform very easy requests, they simply forgot, when reminded they promise to solve and then disappear..

Good located
The hotel is well located, however the overall service — particularly at the reception — was far below the standard expected of a five-star hotel, and especially below the level normally associated with Marriott properties.
The check-in process took an unreasonably long time and was handled very slowly. The reception staff appeared inexperienced and poorly coordinated. Even when the hotel was not busy, there were always guests waiting to be assisted, which created unnecessary frustration.
More concerning was a serious issue regarding payment security. A payment was charged to our credit card that we could not identify or authorize. This is an extremely sensitive and alarming matter. We immediately reported this to the hotel and requested an investigation. We were assured that the issue would be looked into and that we would be informed.
However, no follow-up was provided, no explanation was given, and no action seemed to have been taken — even after we followed up again in person. The lack of urgency and seriousness shown by the staff regarding a potential unauthorized credit card transaction was very worrying and highly unprofessional.
Given the service level, slow handling of guests, and especially the way this serious financial issue was treated, I cannot recommend this hotel. This experience does not reflect the quality, professionalism, or security standards one expects from a five-star Marriott hotel.

Good location, friendly prices, well maintained for the most part, nice bar
Some of the bath fittings in my washroom were corroded. I requested that the fridge be looked at on the fourth day of my stay as it wasn't working properly, and the lights were flickering. It was not attended to before I checked out. A couple of days all the glasses and some of the bathroom accoutrements were not fully improperly replenished.

Wonderful
The location is perfect for the Berlinale and the EFM and the breakfast experience is the best, love the shot/smoothie station. Once more if I had any problems in the room, for some reason this year the coffee machine was problematic, it was dealt with promptly and with good humour.
Disappointed the swimming pool and wellness centre was undergoing maintenance as we enjoyed using these facilities on a daily basis before. That will be back to normal next year though.

The staff are wonderful. They are not discriminatory at all—always welcoming, smiling, and doing their very best to take care of us. I’ve truly come to love Germany.
The pool was under renovation and unavailable. It had been announced on the website from the beginning, but it was still disappointing.
