Very friendly staff. Clean and smelled clean. Very accommodating with check-in time and checkout times.
This is not that I didn’t like it, but I do notice it declined in attendance, and the dinner menu is a bit less appealing than it was in the past. Service for the first two days was outstanding, and then it was as if the B team came in and they were less attentive. For the last day, the server didn’t offer us water, maybe because they were distracted.

Disappointing
Location - is great
We have stayed at Hotel Zoo Berlin several times and always enjoyed the experience, which makes this review particularly disappointing to write.
During our recent visit, we had a reservation at the Grace Restaurant but were assigned a very poor table. When we asked to move, we were told that all other tables were reserved. However, as the evening progressed, we observed that several of these tables were later allocated in a way that did not match what we had been told.
More importantly, the atmosphere that developed around these tables made us feel very uncomfortable, especially as we were dining as a family. This significantly affected our evening and overall experience.
What was even more disappointing was the way the situation was handled afterward. Despite raising the issue and providing supporting information when requested, the hotel maintained a version of events that did not reflect our experience and declined to take responsibility or offer any form of resolution.
This is not what we expected from a hotel of this standard, and unfortunately it has changed our overall impression.

The room was great. Had a balcony on the Ku’damm and a great view of the Kaiser Wilhelm Kirche. The location was perfect to walk where we wanted to visit sites and Christmas markets. Breakfast buffet was excellent and the coffee and omelets were superb. The staff were wonderful, making our stay feel warm and personal. Kudos to Dieter who showed us our room and dropped everything to rescue us when we accidentally left our passports in the room safe. We loved Hotel Zoo Berlin and will definitely stay there again on returning to Berlin.

It’s a hidden hideaway right in the middle of the best shopping / eating area of Berlin. Our room was spacious with wooden floors and high ceilings. I appreciate being able to open the windows
It’s a bit overpriced and the staff did only the bare minimum when asked questions or for assistance. The swishy bar downstairs has DJ and the music carries up the inner courtyard as well as party people who step into the courtyard to smoke and drink. I’d say the hotel vibe caters to people who enjoy nightlife. In addition all rooms
are too dark,even the breakfast buffet . They’re trying to create this sexy atmosphere. Sometimes it’s not practical esp when you want to pack or see the labels on the buffet

Wonderful
It’s both historical and beautifully updated. The entryway is very discreet and the common areas are glamorous. The room was well designed, with comfortable beds and an excellent shower. And the location could not be better. We took a train directly from the airport, and then walked to hotel. There are numerous restaurants nearby, in various cuisines and price points. And a couple of jazz bars (The Hat and the A-trade). Easy to have a good time!We were quickly able to get to other Berlin neighbourhoods because the U and S bahns are close by. The staff was helpful and personable. A particular shout out to Ali, who helped with a small problem we had with lighting.
Customers are allowed to smoke cigars in the common areas. I could adapt to some cigarette smoke, but the cigars were so pungent it made my eyes water. And honestly put me off having a drink after dinner.

The location was excellent. Also liked the feeling of the restaurant: felt intimate and comfortable.
The light in the rooms was very challenging. Tried all the light sources to get some decent light, but to no avail. Impossible for make up application. The design was so so, a bit on the „trying hard to be cool“ side such as the effect in the elevator simulating paparazzi camera flashlights…

If your booking doesnt have breakfast it is really expensive in hotel. 45 Euro is pretty much expensive. And bathroom needs renovation.
