The staff were very friendly and accommodating. A lovely hotel and handy location. Not in the hustle bustle of the city center but easy to access a s bahn, bus or U bahn.

Shortly after checking into my room, a man entered while I was getting ready in front of the mirror at the entrance. I froze in a vulnerable moment, terrified, expecting him to identify himself as housekeeping or someone authorized. Instead, he claimed he didn't know I would be there and simply stared at me until I told him he was making me uncomfortable and demanded he leave. He lingered for a moment before walking out. When I reported this to the receptionist, Luca, I expected reassurance or clarification that he was a staff member. Instead, I was told it could be an electrician or someone helping elderly residents—neither scenario applying to me. I pressed Luca for a definitive answer, emphasizing that the man had a key and the hotel should know who was authorized to enter. Luca dismissively responded that it could be anyone and made a reckless comment about women being r*ped, and go to the police and change their story. I was stunned. I filed a police report and, feeling my safety was compromised, left immediately. The hotel has since stalled and has not issued a refund.

The hotel is as efficient as any "big chain" hotel, but has kept the family-run feeling, very helpful and friendly staff. The pool and spa facilities are excellent and better than I would expect in a hotel this size, a real bonus!

A nice bottle of water in the room as a welcome gift. The bathroom was very large, clean, and the room was nicely decorated. The terrace was lovely, warm, and quiet. The staff were punctual and helpful.

Breakfast was good, nothing spectacular. It needed more fruit. The pool/sauna was great. Room size was also pretty good, however you could certainly tell that it is an old building. The location was poor, it took us at least 40-45 minutes each way to the city center, and we had a hard time getting there from the airport.
I would probably stay closer to the city center next time.

At a very short walking distance from a major subway line, Villa Kastania is an excellent place to position yourself if you wish to pop in and out of central Berlin to see the sights. An excellent breakfast buffet with fresh local produce and immaculately clean rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
The rooms could do with more sockets and USB outlets which are a necessity these days. The room safe is small and cannot take a laptop. Room cleaning is on demand which might not suit everyone. Stocking up of the breakfast table could be better in that filtered coffee, sliced bread and other items would run out and it would take some time before they were replenished.

Had a single bed but it was bigger than a normal single which was nice! The room did what it needed and balcony was nice to have.
You can hear everyone outside the room and the lift is very noisy so can wake you up / keep you awake. Good location for the Olympic stadium but quite far from the centre - 50 mins by train
