The staff failed to inform us that the pool -- a major reason we chose to stay there -- would be closed on the ONE DAY we had a chance to use it. Overall service was indifferent...but this seems to be the "new normal" in hospitality. We liked the design...but not the managment.

Wonderful
Fabulous hotel in a great location with easy transport links to all areas of Berlin. Super breakfast, helpful staff and quiet, comfortable rooms. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and a drink on the roof terrace.
We had a fan but it was hot so airconditioning would have been nice but it didn't spoil our stay.

The staff were not very accommodating, to use the pool required an additional fee and the vibe was that it was for locals not really hotel guests; could not even peek into the pool room to see the size and facilities. This is the reason I chose the hotel so I was bummed.

sometime you go a you have a great experience and then you go back to that place and you're afraid you won't be able to re-create the experience but I have to tell you this is my second time hotel and it was even better than it was before the pool is still amazing. The staff is friendly and helpful and kind of lovely and great snacks and helpful and good advice. I went to the special room balcony. It was worth it had a lovely attic and a little kitchen and it was very, very happy.
I am trying to think of thing that is wrong with this hotel and that I can't think of a thing. the only thing I can think is that there are stairs to get into the hotel and that can be a struggle with luggage but that can be easily helped by asking for help. oh and i think they have shampoo + conditioner . i dont mind the big jugs indeed of the tinies, but shampoo+ conditioner is always a bummer. i bring my own anyway, or my own conditioner but then you don't want to use the one there and you have yo go buy it.

We stayed the night because I wanted to surprise my husband with the midnight swim - and it was exceptional. The rooms are super nice, the staff was super friendly. Breakfast was delicious and much more elaborate than usual in Germany.
The pool is "heated" - to 26 degrees. I guess that is considered heated in German standards, however that is definitely not considered heated for the rest of the world :) Definitely needs 3-4 degrees higher in winter.

Disappointing
Location is very nice.
There is a long list here. Mainly for this price level I would expect much more in terms of rooms, amenities, quality of bar and common area and general vibe of place. It felt like a conference hotel with dated interiors (bar especially), no nice place to sit and for the price I would have expected much more. The rooms were very stupid in particular, with bedroom on top floor and the stair in the middle of the whole room so you fall over a step all the time and knock the head on the stairs. The bedroom which you have to walk up to is in a small area so you cannot stand up straight you have to bend. There is also no plugs at the bed. This was ridiculous and terrible, had I known I would never have booked this.

Beautiful room, with historical details of the public bathhouse preserved, great design, artworks and comfort, super clean and everything just works really well. Of course there's the pool and sauna, and the breakfast is stellar. As someone who gets the late night munchies... I really liked the vending machine with very decent snacks, frozen meals and microwave. And finally, it's really to get everywhere with public transport nearby, though the direct neighbourhood has lots of great bars and restaurants to offer too.
Wifi was quite slow and the pillows were a bit too thin / soft for my preference. But I didn't ask for a firm pillow; so it could very well be that they provide them.
