The location was fantastic in central Berlin just across from Museum Island. Newly renovated area but in old world style, lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Alexanderplatz is 500m away and not really attractive, but the Hackescher markt was also 500m away and a great place to visit day and night. The hotel is close to several metro stations and bus stops so all of Berlin's areas were easily accessible. The staff were all really helpful.
Our room (number 1) had an unattractive view over the carpark and bin containers. Well, we thought, it should be quiet. Wrong! We arrived on Wednesday and were disturbed Thursday and Friday morning by the bin containers being emptied right outside the window. Hopefully this will stop over the weekend we thought, otherwise we would have asked to change room. Unfortunately not, the bins are emptied every day around 7 am, including Saturday and Sunday. Added to which the hotel kitchen staff would chat outside the back door while having a break and then call across to the bin men.... all this noise amplified by the indoor courtyard. Given that we were booked for 5 nights it would have been sensible to place us in a better room. Even if it was at the rear of the building, a room higher up would have got less noise. The one thing you really want from a hotel is ... sleep! Had we known the bins were emptied every day we would definitely have asked to change room after the first day. A pity as we were very happy with all other aspects of the hotel.

Brilliant location, feels like being in a village but right in the centre of town. Very clean and comfortable hotel. Helpful and pleasant staff.
At 16.50 a head, I would expect a wider choice of breakfast foods.

Tea kettle and tea bags in the room. The bathroom was spacious and nice.
There is no AC in this hotel so you have to use the fan at all times. However, there is a lot of noise by the hotel. A lot of locals hang around and smoke in that alley so the smells come in if you keep your window open for air. If it's trash day, that begins at like 6AM and goes on for over an hour. So, it's quite loud and hot. As for cleanliness, they do make up the room but we always found long black hair on the pillows and sheets (none of us have black hair).

The room was an excellent size. Location brilliant.
Breakfast a little too expensive. Perhaps children at a certain age should pay a different price. Or pay for what you eat.
Found a shoe under the bed no big deal. Overall all good. Would stay again.
