Hotel Nikolai Residence is a great hotel that around 10 mins walk from the main train station.
Check in was friendly and seamless with Ege and our room was well fitted, clean and a good size. He also made sure we had all the info we needed for our stay.
Good standard toiletries are provided, as are a small selection of tea and coffee, and a complimentary bottle of water.
There also a complimentary mini fridge and safe, and the Wi-Fi is stable.
Our flight was cancelled due to strike action at the airport and Amal was brilliant in sorting out an extra nights stay and helping to make a stressful situation simple and calm.

The location of the hotel is absolutely, everything is within walking distance, which made our stay very convenient. The rooms were quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped with high-quality amenities. We also really enjoyed the Italian restaurant located just downstairs; it was excellent and a big plus for the hotel.
We had an issue with our room key not working when we returned to the hotel one evening. Unfortunately, it took nearly an hour to resolve, and we struggled to communicate effectively with customer service during that time. We expected a much faster solution for what seemed to be a technical issue.

Disappointing
The hotel has a great location right in the city center, yet it is surprisingly quiet, which makes it very comfortable for sleeping.
However, during our three-day stay the room was not cleaned even once, and even the trash was never taken out. For a three-star hotel, this level of housekeeping is simply not acceptable. With better room service, the overall experience could be much better.

Reception area is not open according to hours posted on the website. It say open 8 am to 10 pm. Closed when we arrived at 8pm. Next morning sign said won’t open until 10am that morning. Check out is posted as 10 am. I now understand that this is a family run business but the hours posted should be kept. Also the room for 3 adults had 2 beds that were practically on the floor with very thin mattresses. Was ok for my 19 year old sons but if I was traveling with friends it would not have been acceptable.
