Convenience of location and personal touch of the place, like a B&B.
The second room on the top floor was very noisy. Also, I initially booked 2 rooms for double occupancy but later on, when my partner could not join me, I wanted to change one room to single occupancy which I wasn't allowed to do via bookings. But I knew that the hotel had rooms with single occupancy (cheaper) available! So, placing my order through bookings was a "handicap" in this case!

It is a very special hotel. According to the owners, it was a library before. After they had this place, they decorated it again but kept the books as the theme. The rooms are named after the popular authors. You can find the author's books in the bedroom. If you like reading, it is a paradise for you. Meanwhile, the breakfast is fantastic. It is the best-ever Baguette in Berlin, very fresh and warm.

The hotel incorpoates a café with good food and breakfast choices. Everything was freshly made and of high quality. A good choice of coffees and teas was available.
Check-in was easy although we arrived late.
The room was very spacious and the shower had decent water pressure.
There is a great choice of books to read in each room and downstairs in the cafe. Everything has been decorated with love and care. There are many artifacts adorning the walls from the former GDR, however it doesn't feel nostalgic.

Lovely decorated rooms with a book theme. Each room is dedicated to a famous German scholar. The rooms were finished nicely and were comfortable. I loved the courtyard the most, it was quiet and green.
I couldn't get a cup of coffee early in the morning. As I was travelling for business, I needed to get up and running at 6:00 am.
