Central location but still quiet (room towards the back).
When I arrived there was no one at the reception, only a computer for self checkin. This wasn't good as I had some organizational questions. The room was small and oddly shaped. Most importantly it was very dark as there was no lamp on the ceiling and a small table lamp was quite dim. The window was very small, so no light from there.

On the second night, there was no hot water, and since then, the hotel manager or operations manager has been taking care of us continuously. Great central location. Tasty breakfast.
Check before they move you to a bigger room — it’s not necessarily better.

It was the first time for me staying at Amano, I really liked it that I came back again to stay there in January again. Comfortable, spacious and clean modern room. It is well maintained, has blackout curtains as there is a bit of light coming from the street. I really liked Daluma apricot and pine soap.
What I really did not like was the check-in process. You are required to enter all your personal details on a stand-alone iPad, which is uncomfortable and frustrating. This includes invoicing information, full addresses, and complete passport details. Typing all of that on an iPad is simply not a good experience. I wish this information could be pulled directly from the booking. At the very least, a laptop or a proper keyboard would make a difference. I stayed at the same hotel again since and again, I had to re-enter everything from scratch even though the booking was done directly on their website. If this does not improve, in the future I will prefer staying somewhere else. This is fully outsourced reception work. After a long day, all you want is to get to your room. The lobby itself has a nice interior, and I would have liked to work from there. Unfortunately, it is too dark for actual work.

Great staff, though another from of house would have helped. Very tech savvy as you check in, and out yourself. Breakfast was good, though no toaster! The cooked breakfast is fine, though very limited. Basically, bacon and scrambled eggs. Well laid out, nicely decorated and great value for money.
