David is an extremely helpful fellow. On the first day of the trip itself, he informed us of all the major attractions and how to get there. He even informed us about all the good olaces to eat nearby. My friend actually fell ill on the last day of the trip, and we requested David for a late checkout, and he agreed to it. FREE OF COST. That was just an amazing gesture, and we really appreciate it.

The owners are very friendly and nice people. The room and attached private bathroom were clean and spacious and had more amenities than one finds in most hostels. The hostel is very close to the tram stop and is well connected. It's in a premium location, and one doesn't have any trouble finding it on arrival. The check-in and -out process was very smooth as well.

Everything was great, owner very nive. Room and bathroom very clean and good size. Fantastic location, M10 at 2 min station, also 10 min by bike to Warschauer or to Mauerpark.

The people in charge were friendly and responsive. The area was quiet and well-connected. If you needed to go to any of the main attractions Berlin offers, I felt I was in a good location.
The room was simple. The towels were relatively small for an adult person. The bunk bed in the room was screechy and not the most comfortable.

We received a very warm welcome from the owner upon arrival. The room was very spacious with good amenities including a fridge, table and chairs. The hostel is only small so the communal facilities are only shared with up to five other rooms. The location is great, next to the park, tram, train and bus stops.
The shower holder was broken, this made showering rather difficult. The design of the slower easily allows water to flood onto the floor. The biggest negative was unfortunately the other guests. We had different rude selfish groups on two different nights. Making an unnecessary amount of noise until late at night.

The host was very friendly, welcoming and supportive. He gave us lots of tips about the area, how to travel around Berlin, etc. The room was spacious and well equipped. Beds comfy.
The room felt very hot at night and bed sheets were made of fabric that felt unpleasant.

Hostel 199 does not offer breakfast. I rented the entire room so that I would not have to share it (two beds and two bunks). I purchased all my food at ReWe (supermarket chain) within walking distance. I chose this property for its location. David (owner) provided an invaluable tip by recommending BVG, so I added the app to my iPhone. BVG gave me flawless (100%) info for the Berlin transportation modes that i needed to take to the sites that I wanted to visit. All of them required two and sometimes three modes (subway, streetcar, bus), and the directions, times, and station stops were accurate and inexpensive. David is very prompt with responses to questions.
David could add a real coffee pot and one comfortable chair, which would greatly add to the comfort of the hostel.
