Other than the front doorbell, everything was as good as usual.
The front doorbell only worked intermittently, often leaving guests waiting outside. I’m not sure why the door needed to be locked during the day, especially if the doorbell was known to be a problem. I don’t recall it being locked during my previous visits.

Great location - good restaurants nearby - easy to get to/from everywhere. Very friendly and helpful English speaking reception staff.

The rooms were very large and felt spacious. The period furnishing was elegant and comfortable. As the windows were large and overlooked a courtyard, there was plenty of light. The provision of a coffee machine and water in the room was very welcome. The bathroom was a reasonable size and the walk in shower offered plenty of room and a good hot shower with easy to use controls over temperature. Reception staff were great, always friendly and helpful when asked for advice. Housekeeping was generally good. There are some very good cafes and restaurants near by. We especially liked the Italian restaurant across the road.
The entrance was uninviting with items being stored in it. We were surprised that some of the corridor floors seemed shabby, although the hotel had pretensions of grandeur. Some attention to small details in the room such as a wardrobe door that wouldn’t stay shut or a lack of info on how to work the coffee machine would have helped. The price of this hotel felt high for what it is and this made the lack of any extra touches normal in similar price hotels, such as individual toiletries in the bathroom, surprising. The hotel was further from the main tourist sites than we had realised.

Kurfurstendamm was the perfect location for us . Loved the fact that the Hotel has its own unique style, beautiful older furnishings with a 1920s vibe , and very comfortable . The staff were always available, which was great.
