Easy check-on and room was available already at noon which was amazing because I arrived early from an international flight. I like the lobby bar, as well as the "Biergarten" along the canal. The room is alright, just very functional (nothing to write home about).
No coffee machine in the room and no coffee + croissant station in the lobby. I prefer hotels that offer that service for business travelers that are on a tight schedule and have no time for a seated breakfast.

It is very spacious and clean. The location was good for me. The reception staff were efficient. The place to leave luggage was very well organised.
I would have given the place all five star reviews except for one small incident.
After I checked out, I bought a cup of coffee in the main reception area. I paid (cash) at the 'bar' as soon as I got the coffee, including a tip. When I finished my coffee, I politely took the cup and saucer back to the bar, and then moved to a sofa to do some work on my laptop.
At this point, a member of staff somewhat aggressively came over to me and asked if I had paid for my coffee. I said yes, I paid 'up front'. He repeated his question. I told him again yes, and to ask the woman who had served me the coffee. At first she said no, but when I reminded her that I paid cash and then gave her a tip from the change, she said 'Oh yes'. (By the way, the place was not at all busy.) The man then just said 'OK', and left me in peace. There was no apology from either of them.
It left a bad taste at the end of a nice stay. (I did have to change rooms during the stay due to a power cut, but this was handled very efficiently by the staff.) I realise that in Berlin everybody wants you to pay after you have finished eating and drinking, so that the staff come to the table and you feel obliged to leave a tip. But it also should be understandable that some people want to pay immediately when they buy something, because they may need to leave suddenly. (In my case, I was waiting to meet someone and then we had a meeting to go to.) Even so, I did tip when I paid for the coffee, this being apparently the German way. Just remember that simply apologising when you make a mistake can make a lot of difference.

I honestly did not expect much before arriving, but I was very pleasantly surprised. It is a much bigger hotel than I expected and excellent value for the price. The room was comfortable, the air conditioning worked very well and was easy to control, and the bathroom was very clean. It was also very convenient for getting around, as taxis were always easy and quick to get. Considering the price, I thought the overall stay was excellent. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Berlin.
The only downside was the breakfast price. I thought it was a little expensive, especially considering the general cost of food in Berlin.

I liked everything about the property. It’s very unique, beautiful , quiet place , good location shops and trains are just 4min away. I really enjoyed myself never used a tax for my movements .
