For this money it's probably the best hostel in Berlin, The location is great, a lot of cheap food around, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, especially the guy at the reception. Thanks to this hostel I had a smooth move to Berlin.

I booked a private room and I was so pleasantly surprised. It was immaculately clean, good size, and overlooked the road without being nosey. It is right around the corner from Hermanplatz station which is only 6 stops from the centre, runs every 5 minutes and runs 24 hours over the weekend. There is a lot around it, I can't praise the location enough. The staff are absolutely wonderful and so helpful. The value for money is second to none. I highly enjoyed my stay here.
For a hostel, there isn't much "mingling" in the common area, which is small (but cosey). The staff however are happy to chat and keep you company. I still managed to meet 2 people there, but doesn't have the "hustle and bustle" of a usual hostel.

Great location, very comfy beds and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. If you stay in a room facing away from the road, for the price, it’s a no brainer, unless you want 5*. I will definitely stay again.
I stayed in a double room (114) which I would recommend avoiding as its next to the stairwell and overlooks a terrace which limits your privacy

The hostel is good value for money, I can recommend it.
I like this hostel and this is why I am coming back almost every year when I visit Berlin but this time I got dissapointed. Although I had staid for 6 nights, they refused to keep my luggage after check out for overnight as I was leaving the town the day after early in the morning. The reason they named was rediculous and so I had to carry a very heavy suitcase through snow and ice, the pavements in the whole city were realy slippery and dangerous. I don't blame the guy at reception he tried to be polite, I am sure it was some kind of house rules he had to follow, in the end a typical german unflexible situation. Next time maybe I try something else but to be fair, again, the hostel is good. Still -1 for my ice ride, it was a hard time.

Modern, comfortable hostel with clean rooms, baths and friendly staff
The hostel is located at a very busy intersection so it can be fairly loud in your room if you open the windows.
