This is my second time staying at the Backpacker, the first was 6 years ago. It's located in a good neighborhood with an abundance of cafes and restaurants. It's connected good by public transport both with the center and the airport. The facilities are clean, the bathrooms are cleaned regularly on a daily basis. I was there in the winter and the heating was working good and it was warm. The staff are really friendly and accommodating, the reception is open during the whole day so I felt safe leaving my stuff in my room. There's an abundance of common spaces to hang out at the hostel (kitchen, living room and library). All in all, great value for money!

You should have done cash to make your locker locked. The most important thing was inside my locker there were no clothes hooks at all. It should be fixed ASAP.

The location is ideal as you have so many options for food, nightlife and shopping. You're about a 10 min walk from the train station also. The major clubs, east side gallery and shopping mall are about a 15-20 min max walk.
The bathrooms are very subpar, especially the ones for the private accommodations. This was by far my biggest complaint and our room was relatively small in comparison for the price I paid and other rooms.

We loved the community feel and the other travelers staying were friendly We had an issue with our booking (my fault) and the staff was extremely helpful. Tulli was such a great host. We will definitely be back!
I would recommend shower shoes, but that is it!

Nice and clean, quiet place. Mostly friendly staff that are in attendance the majority of the time. Good location.
The rooms aren't very soundproof so you cannot make much noise, especially once dark. Other people or staff complained if we talked or listened to music too loud on our phone as early as 8pm. One staff member told us we were too loud at 9pm when we were watching a documentary in bed on an old laptop. She said that if we wanted to party we should go to a bar. We weren't using any external speakers. We ended up having to use headphones to watch the documentary so as not to disturb anybody. This was 9pm at night.

Absolutely loved the cozy vibes at the hostel! The common areas were super cute and it really facilitated people interacting and chatting.
The beds were honestly comfortable but the pillow was a bit on the squished side. But overall good sleep!

Spacious. Nice staff. I felt safe. There is free coffee in a living room. I liked it a lot. Close to the station bus station and located in a nice area.
The room has a large window but the curtains were almost not functioning. They were made of thin see-through fabric, which did not shut down the light from the street (the room is on the ground floor), the room was probably visible from the street at night, and the room was cold! The radiator was on but not effective at all. I think having thicker curtains would help to keep the temperature in the room in the winter.
