Wonderful
There are many aspects of this hotel that left us very satisfied. First, it is wonderfully quiet — during our stay we enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep in great comfort. Second, the hotel is truly beautiful, both in its interior décor and in the garden with its water features outside. Third, the staff were very friendly and welcoming; we never felt like outsiders, which is something rather rare in the German service industry. Fourth, parking was very convenient, with plenty of spaces available in front and on the side of the hotel. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this hotel — it was a delightful surprise on our trip.
If blackout curtains were added to the rooms, it would be absolutely perfect.

Wonderful
The Restaurant of the Hotel offers a good local and Italian menu card with excellent quality and a broad and interesting wine offer. The restaurant itself is designed in a very good style,provides atmosphere. The staff is good. The location at a lake and terraces offers options to relax. The Italian Chef is available and takes care of his guests. A place to come again.

Beautiful location. Lovely restaurant/ café on premise. Perfect for visiting the greater Cologne area and not too far to enjoy Cologne itself as well. Great for morning hikes along the little stream. Rooms were very clean and very welcoming. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We'll be back when visiting our friends again.

The location was very idyllic, the place had such a lovely vibe to it and we very much enjoyed the combination of the old building and modernized interior. - Great breakfast buffet, freshly brewed coffee for each table. Nice selection of foods. We did not miss a thing! Very yummy and highly recommendable.
There was nothing really to dislike. - We just noticed that there are no rooms available on the ground floor/level - this may prove tricky for someone physically impaired.

I am pretty disappointed with the hospitality and organization. I informed the hotel through booking that I ll be arriving between 16-17 p.m. As I arrived at 16.30, the front door was closed, and there was a message with two mobile phone numbers to call in case you needed help. So I called both phones several times and nobody answered. I left for a coffee and came back an hour and a half later. Still, there was no one there, but this time, someone answered my call. Turns out the key was hanging behind the sign??? So besides not answering the phone and not calling back to check on the guest, the hotel couldn't even send a note to inform the guest about the key, so that he doesn't have to wait in front of the hotel. Amateurs! Never again.

Beautiful rural location but close to the town of Bergisch Gladbach, great price for a really gorgeous 2-level suite with great views. Nice hiking right there.
Construction site on the road out front (Sept. 2024), we were there on a Saturday so it wasn't active, but it's probably loud during the week.

Staff unwelcoming on arrival check in . Seemed uninterested in me as a guest. Breakfast was at best minimal and all is served and pre- laid out on designated table. I was disappointed in quantity on offer. My room:- I was allocated a wedding suite room which is on 2 levels with an annoying and very tight turning spiral staircase to reach sleeping area upstairs but only bathroom is small and narrow is downstairs by main room entry door meaning in night a guest has to use steps to use the toilet if required. Whilst a comfortable room its size meant it was cold and i had to hear using all radiators availbe because room was not pre heated at all. Great possibly for a wedding couple but for me as a single traveller I needed a single room on 1 level. Decided not to complain and move rooms due to the unfriendly nature in which i was welcomed. No check out time was written in room or told on arrival but at 11.20 a member of staff banged loudly on door and clearly wanted me OUt. Again rude and unfriendly service. The same staff lady was serving at breakfast seemed uninterested in my restaurant on arrival and when serving me.
