Wonderful
Our family has made a tradition of staying in Ibis hotels for the simplicity and for the reliability of the quality. Ibis Bamberg met our expectations perfectly. And it is centrally located while also quiet, great combination.
It is tucked away and difficult to find, a feature that cannot be changed. But guests should keep looking!

Has a good location close to the Old Town. That is the only good thing we can find about this hotel. Overall, very disappointed and wish we had not stayed at this hotel. Cannot recommend this hotel it is very disappointing, stay elsewhere.
overall our stay was a disaster. Rooms are so small they cannot cope with two suitcases. Photos on the website Gove the impression rooms are much bigger than what they are. Standard of the room is like stydent budget accommodation, not a hotel. Hotel does not have a clean feel. Much of the breakfast is not fresh, appears to be from earlier days. The same rotten pear with fruit flies buzzing around it was put out 3 days in a row. several people had to search through the crockery to find a clean-up. Floors on some days do not appear swept compated to thr previous day. The fruijuice is so watered down it resembles water. My partner found the breakfasts so bad she gave up and went yo nearby cafes.

Excellent location in city center, very good rates. Efficient air-con which was very useful during summer heat-wave.

The location of the hotel was ideal. Although you had to pay extra for parking, in the end it was worth it.
The price of the breakfast was ridiculously high. The bedroom.was a decent size, but the bathroom was too small. Sitting down at the toilet I managed to slip and give myself a black eye.

The hotel is very near to the historical center, there is a big parking to park you car at 200 meters.
I booked 2 rooms, but could pay online only one of them. The other room had to be paid by card when I arrived. Not a huge problem, but ... The idea to open the doors via a website is brilliant, but I have experienced also better solutions.

The small size of the bathroom was a challenge. I could barely sit on the toilet. The bed was really not comfortable. The mattress was very thin, the sheets didn't really stay on the mattress, and the mattress kept trying to slide off on one side. Also, I think the mattress needed to be turned. I realized too late that the side of the mattress near the wall was firmer and more comfortable than the right side, which was the side that probably every guest (including myself) had slept on.
Terrible communication from the hotel prior to arrival. Ibis kept sending me messages wanting me to check in early and online, and insisting that was the only way that I could reserve my needed parking spot. None of the info I had (email, confirmation #) seemed to match what Ibis had (perhaps because I reserved thru Booking.com?), so the online check in didn't work. I kept messaging back explaining the issue, but they kept just telling me to use the online check in. Then they sent me a different site to check in, but that required my birth date...and the only way to enter it was to scroll back month-by-month to reach the appropriate birth month/year. But that would have required scrolling by month for 60 years, which is ridiculous. Finally, when I sent a message with lots of capital letters (i.e., yelling in electronic format), they finally grudgingly agreed that they would reserve a parking place for me even though I hadn't managed to get through the online check-in process.

The location was good, parking was reasonable at 21 euro, and staff was kind.
The room is outdated with an old bathroom and shower, drains all have issues and the worst is the air conditioning.. it barely worked and we were baked in our room.. opening the windows was the only remedy but it indroduced so much road noise.. we were woken a dozen times during the night. For reference, the weather outside was between 29-19 c and it was always much hotter inside than outside..

Very centrally located and a decent price for the area. The bed was comfortable and the area quiet.
There was a problem with the payment between booking.com and the hotel which was slightly annoying - have your payment confirmation ready at the start of the booking so you can show you have paid. The lady at the counter did not have it reflected on the system and I had to send screenshots from the app via email as proof. Unnecessary, considering that you are the middle person and the problems between booking.com and property.
