The pool
Reception is separate from the main building, as are the parking spaces.
Very limited menu in the restaurant.
No curtains in the room.
Slate shingles on the exterior facade rattle in the wind.
Many flies in the room.
Location on the main road makes it very noisy with the window open.
No queen-size or king-size bed, as booked, but two single beds pushed together.
Smart TV, unfortunately, not smart, just a TV...
Room cleaning is unfortunately not done daily in a 4* hotel, but every two days, the environment ?

The hotel itself looks really impressive. I like that they offer traditional rooms and treehouses. The interior has a high quality and everything is clean. The pool is warm, which is not common any more in Germany. Most of the staff were really nice. You have a lot of activities in walkable distance.
Overall I would return! The breakfast is not a 4star breakfast, the choice and quality is not that good. It is a better standard breakfast. Also I asked for vegan options before my arrival, to be prepared. I do not have a problem with bringing my own vegan things and just take the fresh bread. I was told they have options, they had one vegan alternative (and tomato, cucumber and fruits). Hummus, Avocado or vegan sausage would have been great and a thing that everyone eats. The room that we had was in the attic floor and therefore it was not easy for the taller folks to sit on the couch.

Everything! A superb location in the Harz Mountains, high quality accommodation, a lovely large heated swimming pool and sauna, great food and friendly and efficient staff.

The hotel is in a good location beside the cable car station. The price I paid was incredible value for the quality of the facilities and food…the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The four course dinner was very good quality although the portion size could perhaps have been a little larger after a day of hiking. Cake was also provided in the afternoon which unfortunately I missed out as I was out. I also appreciated the travel pass which saved me a lot of money for my bus journey home as well as a visit to nearby Goslar. I was also very impressed by the staff at mealtimes as well as the man at reception who was very welcoming.
Tea/coffee facilities in the room would have been appreciated but I know it’s not very common in Germany.

Living with dogs in wooden houses is prohibited. I booked this hotel only because of the wooden houses, but when we arrived, we were informed that dogs were not allowed in the wooden house. we were given another room, but of course it was not what we had originally planned.

Actually everything, the room size, the comfort etc.
The breakfast was a disappointment. Bad bake off bread, tasteless cheese etc. The kitchen is otherwise very good so in order to save a penny, saving on the quality of the breakfast is plain stupid. A lot of otherwise high quality hotels don´t realize that the last impression the guests leave with is that of Breakfast!

Very nice location,large and clean rooms with a very nice spa area.
There is no direct way to the swimming pool and spa area. So you have to walk outside , regardless of the weather.
The room took a long time to get warm.

Very friendly and helpful personnel. As cyclists we loved the location in the forest and beautiful paths, the Spa (Turkish bath in particular) to warm up and relax afterwards, the delicious fruits for breakfast, and the spacious room. We'll come back!
