Poor
Hotel is central, near cathedral, it is clean and breakfast is very good. Staff is friendly at breakfast.
There is a parking nearby
2 things that made it a quite bad experience :
1 - My room (6th floor) temperature was extremely hot (i think around 30deg), despite opening the window and trying to use the aircon, impossible to cool it down. I did not asked for another room because I thought it would cool down eventually : never happened. I did not sleep at all. The day after I realised that the 6th floor are the roof (a tin roof).
2 - The person at the lobby, upon check in, told us that where we parked was fine and included in the price. The next day, when I brought the parking receipt to clear it, I have been told by another staff that I should have parked at the basement ! Very bad communication. I ended up paying 15 euros of parking extra because of the wrong info.
The next day, letting the staff know about those 2 issues :
- for the too hot room, answer : "Sorry, I really need to let the maintenance know" (like it was a known issue)
- for the parking, the person at lobby, the next day, only explained to me I was wrong anyway. Despite I explained that the other person at the front desk upon arrival clearly told me I was parked at the right place.
Misaligned information and tried to blame it on me. Very not nice.

Wonderful
As a hotel chain Mercure offers a standard of service. Facilities were, clean, bed comfortable, the room was in a good condition, breakfast was quite tasty and had enough varieties. Reception staff was very polite and helpful. They quickly resolved my issue when I had to leave my baggage after the check-out. Hotel is located in the old city, so you will have a great access to all sightseeings, public transport. You can reach the main train station in a 13-15 minutes walk.
As located in the city center, hotel is facing quite busy street, so it could be a bit nosy if to open the window. But of course it can be clearly seen on the google maps etc. Of course not a property’s fault. Just a fact to consider if it really matters.

Spotlessly clean room. The location of the hotel is ideal and the staff professional and helpful. I would definitely choose Mercure hotel again and I would highly recommend it!
I would prefer a coffee machine in the room instead of a kettle. Otherwise everything was fantastic!

When I told the reception next morning that heating was not working, I had to get a movable heater, fan was making an unbearable noise and the pillows were flat, the reception answered "all pillows in the hotel are flat...."

our group of 4 person stayed in two rooms. one had extra pillows, flipflops for bathroom, free beverage available. our room did not have any of those. we had to walk on our socks, fold pillows to make it a bit comfy. and I did pay for all beverages I took from reception compared to other room availabilities
