We absolutely loved this hotel. We got upgraded to a beautiful suite and felt like a princess. The room was beautiful - Victorian vibe. The location was fantastic- in the heart of old town with view of clock tower. And without the noise. And the best bonus was the Black Angel bar located in the hotel. A must! One of my favorite hotels ever!
Nothing.

First of all, the location of the hotel is unbeatable because it is in the very heart of Old Town, with a view of the Astronomical Clock. That being said, it was always quite crowded outside the hotel entrance, but we expected that. We stayed in a double room on the top floor of the hotel which had a view of the clock from its tiny window. We felt like we were staying in a cute little attic room! It was clean and comfortable. The entrance to Terasa U Prince was located right next to our room and had a constant long line to get into the infamous rooftop bar with the incredible view. We chose to go the next morning when it opened at 11am and only had to show our room key to get access and take our pictures. The buffet breakfast that was included with our stay was very good. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wish we had been able to stay a night or 2 longer!
-Not really a negative, but because the hotel is located in a pedestrian zone, if arriving by Uber, Bolt, Taxi, etc you will be dropped off/picked up at the outer edges of the square and will need to haul your luggage over the cobblestones through the crowds of tourists.
-Our tiny room was so cute and quaint, but the bed only had access from one side. Not a big deal for us, but could be challenging for others.

The location was good
very loud due to its proximity clock. Rooms very small and cramped. And old but not in the charming way. The elevator and halls very busy due to rooftop restaurant

It had views directly overlooking the town square and everything was easily accesible from our hotel. Aside from the location being extremely convenient, the hotel itself was extremely rich in history and the architecture was beautiful. The room itself was exceptional, being extremely large and lavish, and the facilities blended in perfectly with the magnificent aesthetic.

The location, The old world charm. Our room was so special. The rooftop bar was one of our favorite locations and The down stairs bar was the very best experience! So special. Hotel reception desk was helpful and kind. We loved it very much
We have no complaints except A/C was not very cold. We were comfortable tho

Room was amazing with a real quality feeling to it. Location is perfect as it's right on the square, but we weren't disturbed by any noise. Breakfast was okay. Black Angel Bar and the roof terrace were amazing.
Breakfast was okay but not all of it is geared towards English visitors. We only ate the hot food on day one and then stuck to pastries and fruit.

OK but had no pastry type items. Eggs looked uneatable
one small elevator for a 4 story building with a bar in the basement and restaurant on floor 1 and a restaurant on floor 3 all used one small elevator making it not available at certain times of day and evening. some of staff were not friendly and luggage could not be picked up or dropped off at entry most of the time. had to transfer luggage across a street and plaza ourselves. No assistance was provided when requested

Preface: This was my first visit to Prague so I wanted to make it special for my wife. She just retired. Based on the recommendation of a popular (Online) Praque tour guide I chose Hotel U Prince.
Location - Being on the old town square no cars are allowed. When you arrive the taxi will drop you off around 100 meters away. We had to schlep our luggage across cobblestones and make our way through streams of tour groups. It was hectic.
Room - We stayed on the third floor, the room with the painted ceiling. It was right beneath the rooftop terrace, so at night, we heard the heavy footsteps of people. The room was hot when we arrived and took hours to cool down. The heat/AC system seemed inadequate.
Bathroom - It's large and beautifully tiled in marble, with nice sinks. However, to get to the bathroom there are 2 steps. My wife has bad knees so this proved to be a challenge. More importantly, the tub/shower is deep. To get in/out of the tub the height (estimated) is around 27 inches/68 Centimeters. There are no grab bars anywhere to help. I had to help my wife to ensure she did not fall.
Breakfast - We opted to pay to get the breakfast included. That was another mistake. The selections were minimal and not very appealing. In addition, the room where the buffet was located was extremely hot and uncomfortable. When I asked the waiter to please adjust the room temperature his reply was "It's an old building, I told you you could sit in the other room". I found this comment rude. We ate the buffet the first morning of our stay but opted to go out to find breakfast elsewhere for the next 2 mornings. I called the front desk to discuss this and requested a credit for at least 2 days. Nope, was told that was not possible.
Conclusion: This 5-star rated property did not deliver 5-star accommodation and service. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best I rate it a 6.

- Location is great
- The room was clean
- The hotel staff are friendly and very nice
. The WiFi is very poor in the hotel
. You smell food in the rooms, bathrooms, the hallways and main areas of the hotel
. For a 5 star hotel they are missing some basic amenities like there is no water in the room, you have to buy water
. The breakfast is poor and not well organized it doesn’t represent a 5 star hotel
. There is only one elevator in the hotel and it gets busy you would have to wait for it

The location is the main draw of this hotel with exceptional views of the old town square and being very close to the astronomical clock. The downside is that if you have a room on the front of the hotel with a view, as we did, you do get some noise from outside particularly at night. We went in April so the season had only just started and it was already busy. For the main we were not bothered by this but one night we did get disturbed during the early hours whilst trying to sleep. We emailed the hotel ahead of our trip to request a room with a view of the clock, high floor, away from the lift and we received this. Room 44 was great for us with an exceptional side view to the clock and square. We were delighted with this! The ambience and style of the hotel is very oldy worldly but fitting to the style of the old square and building and we chose this hotel for this reason. It was very clean and in the main most of the staff were very friendly and polite.
The breakfast, as we had found previous reviewers mention, could definitely be improved. The breakfast room was very warm being located next to the kitchen and with no external windows. You can opt to eat breakfast in the bar/restaurant area which is cooler and this is what we did. There is a good selection of continental meats, cheeses, bread, cereal and fresh fruit along with a hot selection of eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, pancakes. There was also a selection of small dainty cakes and pastries plus jams/dried fruits. There was a coffee machine, fruit juices, water and prosecco. The coffee machine dispenses short volumes that half fill a mug. The juices are room temperature - this suited us but may not suit everyone. Having stayed in other 4/5 star hotels in a variety of cities this breakfast, whilst adequate, was not of the same level we have experienced elsewhere. We would have expected to have drinks and a hot breakfast option served to the table and some more refined hot food options. These are available, if you pay for them, at the hotels rooftop terrace. I would recommend staying room only and paying for breakfast elsewhere.
In terms of the room we would have expected free water each day again as experienced in other 5 star hotels. In this hotel the water was labelled with a charge which we felt was mean for a 5 star hotel. No welcome drink on arrival either!

Pleasant
Beautiful property, rooms decorated well, very traditional.
We had an issue on the first day where the barmaid couldn’t open a bottle of wine, corked it then tried to say it was “clean” despite bits of cork floating in my glass. She then made us feel guilty by saying she would have to pay for it if we didn’t accept it.
The last night we chose to eat in the restaurant. Main courses were brought out same time as starters so we sent them away only for them to come back with a film over them as they had been shoved under a hot plate….sent back again and asked for fresh ones which we did get. We knew the waiter wasn’t listening properly from the offset.

The hotel was comfortable and incredibly well-located on the Old Town Square, opposite the Astronomical Clock. Breakfast was pretty good, with a decent selection of hot and cold food. Staff at the hotel were very pleasant and friendly.
No major complaints but the main room for breakfast was small, with the tables very close to each other. The fruit juice was also very warm.
