Good
The staff was amazing, the food was great, the location is really good. The room was large and sufficient for a small family.
Well, i asked/payed for a room with a view but somehow didn't get that (not a deal breaker though). The building and the furniture are old and squeaky, the doors in the toilt/bathroom do not lock from inside (i find that strange).
This is not a 4 star hotel, that is clear.
I would say about the noise from outside: yes there is some but dooring the week days, the bar close by closes at midnight so after that it was quiet.

Exceptional
From the very beginning, staff was very helpful and friendly, constantly making sure we were comfortable - felt like long-time friends. Due to a slight mishap on our reservation, we were upgraded to a full suite, which was absolutely magnificent, with plenty of room to sit down and relax after a day of walking around. The hotel is literaly a block from the west tower of the Charles bridge, but even with that, we were never bothered by noise of any kind, or lots of tourist traffic and always felt safe. The tram stop is also a block away, but everything is well within walking distance. Shower was modern and great, TV - could pair with major entertainment apps. Loved the idea of having a fresh pitcher of water every day, as well as a refill station by reception. Breakfast buffett was well stocked everyday, with ample choices for all tastes.
Curtains aren't entirely black-out, so light comes in very early, especially in the summer. Nothing horrible, though. Would like more than one channel in English for TV (other than the news).

It's a handy location. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast had plenty of options.
There was a bit of street noise but to be expected in such a busy area.

Wonderful
The hotel is wonderfully located in the very heart of Prague. The room we got was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, with furniture matching the vibe of the historic townhouse. We had a bathroom with a bathtub, which was a nice addition to our stay. The staff was helpful, friendly, and communicative.
We will definitely consider coming back to this place!
P.S. Staying in the very centre of Prague might mean hearing some noise during the evenings and nights, so please take it into consideration. We didn’t mind it at all - it’s not the hotel’s fault that some tourists are too noisy and lack manners!
We have stayed in many 4-star hotels, and I must admit that even though we don’t have many objections regarding the place itself, the hotel’s standard does not fully match what is expected from a 4-star hotel nowadays. The breakfast was tasty, but a bit modest considering the price of the stay. However, it is still a very lovely and comfortable hotel, and we have very fond memories of our stay.

We launched four weeks of travel in Central Europe with 6 nights at The Charles. It was fantastic!! Perfect location to explore Prague. Nice transfer set up from the airport and to the bus station. Easy one block walk to the trams and Charles Bridge. We booked a Junior suite. Lovely! Comfortable! Quiet! Spacious! The breakfast buffet was exceptional offering a wide variety of fresh food choices. Daily baked, delicious pastries! Homemade granola and breakfast casseroles. It was wonderful to be greeted each morning by the very friendly and helpful breakfast staff! In fact, the entire staff from the front desk to housekeeping to breakfast...every staff person we encountered at The Charles was welcoming, helpful, efficient and informative. The Charles and Prague remain a highlight of our month long travel. Thank you!

Wow, a perfect location for Prague! It’s just one block to the Charles Bridge but quiet in the evening. I had the cute attic room. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were all very kind. I would gladly stay there again.

Wonderful
There is an excellent ethos in this hotel. The staff are all very friendly. The situation in the city is perfect for all the tourist venues. All within walking distance or accessible by tram with a major stop less than 200 metres away. An excellent breakfast choice with a large range of hot and cold items, which included cake and salad, and beverages. The room was large. A king-size bed. A table and easy chairs. Ideal for two (although I was alone). En suite bathroom all that can be expected. Plenty of hanging space. A safe.
One improvement would have been welcome in the bathroom. The bath side is quite high and there is no rail or handle to hold as you step into it. Nor is there an anti-slip mat. Getting out especially, felt rather dangerous.
These are comments, not complaints.
1. Situated in the heart of the city, the hotel is surrounded by nightlife, including a cafe/bar with tables on the pavement immediately below. Prague does not go to sleep until at least 4 am. The street is narrow, which means it is very noisy.
2. There is no sign above the door or on the wall that hotel even exists! There is a double wooden door in the wall, which is mostly shut. Patrons should look down at the pavement for a mat with the hotel name on it :)
