I really enjoyed my stay at Mama Shelter Prague. I am familiar with Mama Shelter Dubai, Hoxton London and Mondrian Qatar. I did think a few touches could be improved on to be more on par with its sister hotels. But for me my highlights here were - location, comfort of beds (super soft), movies available in the room on the smart tv, beautiful city view from floor 10 (arguably the best in Prague!) the communal areas were clean, cool and vibey, just like the others within the group. The staff were all lovely that I encountered and made time to chat, especially the bar staff.
I enjoyed the walk from the hotel to the old town via Letna park, the autumn colours were phenomenal.
The fact there was no kettle. This should be mandatory in 4 star hotels - to access boiling water, I would consider it a basic. There are kettles to loan downstairs for a charge (but all were out of stock during my stay). I would say to consider investing in more of them, as there is a clear demand.
Cleaning was more of a tidy up than a clean. Bedding wasn’t changed over 3 nights and water glasses were not washed each day either. But everything else was good. Team were friendly enough if I saw them.
The room was on the dark side, but it added to the vibe and ambiance the designer has strived to achieve (ceilings are painted navy blue). Luckily I had a huge window so I just would pull the privacy curtain back each morning to let the natural light flood the room! The bathroom also has LED lighting around the mirror to help anyone that wishes to apply makeup successfully, and not in the dark.
