Location was good, staff were also great.
Furnishings are quite old, looks like a late 80s hotel. Pictures are highly manipulated. Our chair had ripping and cigarette burns on it. Bed sheets also had old blood stains. The faucet in the bathroom was leaking and did not have any ventilation, so in the heat it smelled funky and moldy because of the moisture. I am only giving 6 stars since staff were exceptional.

Stayed at Metropolitan Old Town recently and overall it was an okay experience. The staff really made the stay genuinely great and pleasant throughout, which goes a long way in making a hotel feel welcoming. That part I have no complaints about at all. The one downside: no air conditioning. To be fair, that's on me for not checking this more carefully before booking, so I won't hold it against the hotel as such. But it's worth mentioning for anyone booking during summer - we happened to be there during a heatwave, and without AC the rooms got genuinely uncomfortable, especially at night. Just something to be aware of and factor into your decision depending on when you're visiting. Would consider returning outside of peak heat season given how good the staff were.

The location
The room was unbearably hot, with no proper ventilation or air conditioning. I checked in, went up to the room, and within five minutes returned to reception without even unpacking my luggage because it was simply impossible to stay there. Don’t be tempted by the lower price—the hotel is simply not equipped for summer temperatures. What disappointed me even more was the complete lack of flexibility. Despite leaving almost immediately and never actually using the room, the hotel refused any refund, partial refund, or even the possibility of changing my reservation to another date as a gesture of goodwill. Because of both the facilities and the way this was handled, I would not stay here again or recommend it to others.

Location was excellent
Room was not like the picture with divided shower room and toilet. Housekeeping did not restock our room and didn’t even come one day. Management only offered to upgrade our room which is hassle Shower was not an even temperature. There is no AC which is noted, but it was very hot when we stayed there.
